Say if you make a post then decide afterwards that it's too stupid or whatever (as often happens in my case), is there any way to delete a post after it has been made?

Yeah, click the 'edit' button on the post you want to delete, tick the 'delete post' box then hit the 'Delete Now' button.
But do not do it if there are posts after yours, especially if they quote you or are refering to your post. That's just really bad manners and you'll have bloody great rocks thrown at you.
