Good god, the rumors about SS3 just keep getting worse and worse. The "Godfather team" was bad enough, but now the "Sports team"? Come on! :eww:
So I guess they're going to take the basketball court from the recreation area in SS2, and make that the whole game? :p

I heard that is was going to be made by the guy that made lemmings.
It's a side scroller.
You play as SHODAN controlling a lot of little avatars through a space station. When they reach an obsticle or enemy you can upgrade them with cybermodules. They'll chose some random upgrade in the hopes that they will get past the problem.
Of course you have to be carefull who you give your cyber modules to. You give too many to the wrong avatar and they'll turn. Keep giving them modules and they'll turn round, say "Nah..." in a pretty cheesy way and shoot you in the face!
(oh bugger, I should have put that in sarcasm tags...)

This actually sounds like a really cool SS2 fan spin-off...

the only honest and reliable information i've seen on SS3 is that ea renewed its copyright on the name system shock
this could mean EA is at work on a sequel - and given the popularity of bioshock and renewed interest in system shock 2, it's very possible that dollar signs lit up in the ea bigwigs' eyes and they said full steam ahead
gamespot did run a rumour report stating that the team behind the godfather is working on ss3
but then again, companies register literally hundreds - if not thousands - of names, most of which never get used - almost all games have a dozen names before they're finally named, and most of those names get registered with appropriate naming bodies
while ea renewing the rights to the name system shock is certainly suggestive, it's just that - suggestive... until there's an official announcement, spare the rumours none of your time, because for every rumour that turns out true, there's an unlimited number of rumours that turn out to be nothing

There are a lot of games that get developed and some few don't see the light ever.
I wish The Lost would have came out, but screw it, it didn't.

System Shock 3's Trade Mark was recentley renewed by EA, as it considers it as a jewel in the grown of gaming!
It's Either Irrational Games, or another team, EA aren 't so sure yet!
Permission has possibly been allowed on the game so far.
SO long story short SS3 is a possibility!:thumb:
No further news as to multiplayer or what will be on the game has been revealed as it is only at Stage:! If I can call it so!!

I hope in a way we don't see System Shock III. EA has got a reputation for butchering games, or releasing buggy games with the patches in expansion packs.
...I don't want to see SS3 be like that.
Anatoly_Korenchkin on 4/8/2007 at 23:28
... although having said that we all want see an attempt at SS3 really.
Dont we?
?

I would prefer an attempt by a company with good rep and lots of experience with the genre.

Yeah, but the System Shock franchise doesn't have satan on it's side.
Isn't EA the son of satan?:ebil:
What does EA mean again? Wasn't it Electronic Assholes?:joke:
