I'm feeling a bit guilty for having never played IW past Egypt, that was a time when everyone and his dog were bashing on the game. Now, can anyone suggest me any mods which address the game's shortcomings? I reckon something about the amount of ammo and skill trees would be sufficient. Thanks for any info.

As far as I'm aware it's pretty much unmoddable. I know there was some hope for getting The T: DS editor hacked to work, but really nobody cared enough about IW, I think. :(
Definitely put John P's texture pack on, though.

Dang, I had hoped some hero modder could have saved that game.
Maybe I'll try using some strict gameplay rules. :erg:

Never understood all the hate for the game personally, other than the fact that it
is to easy even on the hardest difficulty.
What I did was play a stealth game with no reloads unless necessary and keep the initial augs you take, even though the game doesn't force that on you. Don't look back in other words. If you try something and it doesn't work, deal with the consequences. Even then it's not the most difficult game in the world, but it does add some tension.
Oh, and max out the jump aug. It's hilarious!

You really just posted a "I Never Understood the Hate for..." post?
You have six years of posts detailing the precise reasons for the disappointment and frustration and all the incorrect assumptions for them dismissed overall as "hate". If you still don't get it, and won't even read up (you don't have to read but a small percentage by eloquent posters), then you never will, but posting about it is nothing constructive.

You are correct. I
have read 6 years of posts explaining the myriad of reasons people considered the game inferior to the original. And I've always agreed it was. Perhaps I should have worded it "disappointment and frustration", however I'm simply expressing my opinion that I don't agree with the majority of the posts. Different strokes for different folks eh?
As far as "eloquent" posters here at TTLG? Well, maybe some but certainly not all.
