Another Thief:DS Crash Problem (Sorry), it's being Moody. - by infinity

In advance, I apologize for adding to the already abundant amount of DS CRASH! HELP! threads, but, the situation is thus: DS CRASHES!!! HELP!
Now, I know that it is not a hardware issue, because I've been playing Deadly Shadows, for about an hour today, and for the past week or two, without any hitches. Not a single crash since I reinstalled the game. So, I just came to the end of the Clock Tower mission, and it cuts out into the debriefing. I click continue, and the StoneMarket loading screen appears, with the typical Keeper flavor text, and the loading bar advances to about 25% then a crash. I can go back to the closest savegame and play normally. I can go to any other savegame and play normally. But every time I try to move forward I get the typical MS Serious Error.
Now, this could probably be fixed with a fresh reinstall, but I don't have the CD's with me for about a month, and I was hoping I could avoid that.
Any insight on all of a sudden DS would just turn moody like that? Like I said, I had been playing for an hour or so before, so I didn't change anything in respect to Thief: Deadly Shadows, or my computer.
:erm:

I'm afraid I don't have an explanation for that problem, but I did have two crashes in a row while loading the Stonemarket area when I tried to enter it for the first time after the second mission. On the third attempt, it loaded normally, and after that, there have been no problems. I'm just about to start the Clocktower mission, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that the same doesn't happen again.
Besides that, I've also had a few other crashes on loading a new area, quicksaving, and a couple of times after blackjacking someone - so far it's been irritating, but not game-breaking. Ironically, TMA, which was designed for Windows 98, runs flawlessly apart from the codec issue. :tsktsk:

It maybe a corrupt save problem. Actually, a save entry contains not only current location state, but any location you've been already. So, if information about Stonemarket is corrupted, the game will run normally until you enter Stonemarket. In such case the only solution is to load a save before Clocktower mission, enter Stonemarket Proper/Plaza to see if it loads normally, and then start Clocktower agait.
That once happened to me, and I had to replay Pagan mission to prevent crashing in Abysmal Gale.
