Just wanted to tell you that I'll like this place for several reasons, but one important one is it looks good on my eyes. It's great that avatar pictures are not allowed here. On it, whose ideas was it in the first place? I hope the admins will stick to that prohibition as long as site exist.

Huh, I routinely turn off avatars and signatures in my forum options - I completely forgot (or never noticed) that that was a native attribute here.

I personally prefer having avatars enabled than not. On most forums I recognize members solely by avatars, much quicker for me to see pictures than read the usernames one by one.

I don't mind seeing a small, square, NON-animated image for an avatar, but when they distract my ADDled mind, I can't stand it. I'm reading. Those flashy, funny, vulgar, awesome, mini-movie images draw my attention too much--kinda like a screaming spoiled 2-year-old in a movie theater, but without the ice picks.
