To be fair, Stitch, it's not so much CCCToad (or anyone else RBJ has ever torn apart) as it's RBJ himself taking things a step too far with his extremely predictable evisceration of anyone who shows the slightest hint of disagreeing with him (or his methods) or even not knowing as much as he does. I'd be afraid to ask him what he had for dinner for fear he'd fax me a sheet saying FUCK YOU TWATWALLOP in big block letters. :(

Exactly how is me asking RBJ a question me trying to compete with him when it comes to economics? I haven't "refuted" anything he's said, except for my hostile response to a hostile and unprovoked insult.
It would be as stupid for me to do that as it would for him to advise me on military tactics.
The question is also deliberately broad: since we all seem to agree that the market needs reform, where would he start? Its broad because I don't know enough to formulate a specific question.
Please, try to act like an adult instead of just spewing bile. Its not going to impress anyone, and its definitely not going to impress me when my education relied heavily on much worse treatment (in person, not over the internet obviously) than anything RBJ's said.
Secondly, its not an unrelated. RBJ Says Taibbi's calls for reform are incorrect, and his solutions ridiculous. Since he disagrees so strongly, the obvious follow up question is to ask what his solution is.

* Do you know the statute that bars insider trading?
* Do you know the regs that implement that statute?
* Do you know the mechanisms through which the S.E.C. enforces those regs?
* Do you understand how insider trading fits into the larger question of securities fraud?
If you don't know the current state of the law, how could you understand the implications of any improvements? Any suggestions I would have would be entirely technical and so far outside of your understanding that it wouldn't do you any good anyway. That is why I say you lack the sophistication necessary for me to answer your question. So make no mistake, you are the first person to openly insult anyone (other than Matt Taibbi) in this thread.
Like I said, I could sit here and write an explanation of all this, but it would take so much background in order to even give you the frame of reference to understand my answer that I'm not willing to do the work. Especially when I know from other interactions with you that you're so resistant to following basic logic and facts.
If I had even a modicum of respect for your abilities, I would certainly do so. But you haven't earned that respect, and therefor you have not earned that claim upon my time and knowledge. This isn't about eviscerating people that disagree with me - I rarely agree with grip on economics or finance, but at the least I know that he has a basis for his opinions/questions, reasonable knowledge about it, and suitable understanding of the limits of his experience. It's about avoiding the rat's nest of dealing with ignorance.

CCCToad's persistance in not following along is precisely why everything I've said is warranted. Compare and contrast, on the one hand, my initial responses to him, and my discussion with the_grip, to, on the other hand, those responses to his later questioning (and insulting) of my stance (that his question is pointless) or my responses to your (and kolya's) unwarranted intrusions into the discussion for no other reason than to be twats. There is a substantive difference in what I was responding to, and therefor a difference in how I respond. I do not suffer fools gladly.

Please do yourself a favor and re-read the thread. Note where I have used profanity. In one instance, and the only one even remotely directed at CCCToad, I state "fuckin' please" which is a mostly harmless aside, meant to be humorous in that I'm throwing out a highly out-of-place slang statement of bemusement into the middle of an online discussion.
