My reasons are simple, I have grown tired of this country and firmly believe it is for the pit after May 6th and whatever might transpire on that date. My career has stagnated here and my social life is not what I would like it to be. Since I love Australia the decision is natural and was surprisingly easy and with my visa granted my move is secured. And there is joy and happiness all around. Except for the Australians who ready their beer and meat for yet another Scotsman bringing his Western influence.
The purpose of this tale? To give a giant ‘F-U’ finger to the Government and Finance industry of the UK; both are destructive overbearing douchebags who suck the life out of all that is fun and I pity those who lack the bravery and courage to change their situation. A sentiment echoed by both my colleagues and friends here in London-town.
With that attitude, I have to say: good fucking riddance.

Good luck to you fonz.
I must say, however, that if you had a crappy social life in London you were doing it wrong.
When exactly are you leaving? There may still be time to come get tanked in London with me and the firm.

Definitely!
No date yet for my flight to Australia but I'm thinking sometime in June to make the move. I'll be in London at least until 28th May so yeah a tanked evening is in order.
SD - I've been in the banking business for long enough to know now that people get burned out very quickly and alot of my friends are simply stuck in jobs they cannot stand and for whatever reason refuse to make the change. Sure my plan might fall flat on its face but I personally don't like the way the UK is heading and therefore its time for a change rather than the typical British stiff-upper lip when it comes to shifting circumstances.

So, will you still be watching Doctor Who? Even when the story is totally centered around London/Kardiff, as it so often is?

Hell yes.

I hope you don't have any plans to play Left 4 Dead....
On a serious note, I do respect what you're doing. Not everyone has the stones to actually get up and move to a new place instead of just complaining.
