What does "Nihil aliud scit necessitas quam vincere" mean? I saw it in a book in Jaime's office the first time you get into U.N.A.T.C.O. headquarters.
I'm assuming it's Latin, and looking around online for Latin translators... I came up with...
nihil- nothing
aliud- change, other, different
scit- understand, know
necessitas- inevitability, need, poverty, obligation
quam- who, what, which
vincere- conquer, defeat, succeed
"Nothing changes the knowledge of the inevitability that is success"??? I don't know Latin grammar yet.

o.o;
"Necesssity knows nothing else but victory."

...comes out of the wilderness...
Vaguely accurate translation:
Nothing else than necessity knows (how) to conquer.
...returns to wilderness...

Thanks for translating that.
Also, while manually shifting through the game's text files, I found several very cool text articles that appear to be from Area51, but are, to the best of my knowledge, unused in the game.
One of these also had the latin phrase:
Quote:
"Ipsa scientia potestas est."
Which translates as "Knowledge itself is power" Muhaha.

That last one is in the game somewhere, but I can't really pin point it.

Ipsa scientia potestas est (Knowledge in itself is power) originally said by Sir Francis Bacon, dixit Google.
Isn't that quote somewhere in the MJ12's secret facility? The one in New-York?

I'm about 90% sure that averroes is right... That one is found in a book in the MJ12 laboratory in the sewers under Hell's Kitchen.
The other one, as I said, is found in a book in Jaime's office at U.N.A.T.C.O. HQ.

I just double-checked DeusExText.u, and it seems that that phrase is in fact used several times in MJ12 log-books, and it appears to be some kind of motto. Guess I must have missed that one. :(
