Okay, TDS will run just dandy out of the box, however, as soon as I reach the end of the training mission or try to load a game from menu the game freezes. Things I have tried: setting to use single core, disabling DEP, alternative exe's, compatibility modes, as admin, graphics/sound settings, changing savegame location, reinstall (complete).
Otherwise runs beautifully with full EAX and Dan's texture pack, but kinda useless if i cant get past the training mission. really dont want to have to run a dual boot just for one game.

Weird... There are two things come on my mind:
1) Perhaps your HDD has some integrity errors. Have you checked it? If not, then please do it and reinstall the game again.
2) Where exactly did you installed the game? As you can know, it is not recommended to install Thief 1/2/3 into the default folder like "C:\Program Files" or similar. Try something else, like "C:\Games\Thief3" or even "C:\Thief3". This condition is needed to apply most of the fixes properly.
