Regardless of anything else, I appreciated Adam coming here to post and I wish him all the best.

I've seen more "rabid" communities and the CMs were always respectful even when they took buckets of shit in the face. This guy was not.
I believe I noticed something about the team being not only heavily engaged with the game but also... don't know how to describe it... proud and caring to an extent that has crossed the line of ordinary nerdyness (no matter if this aligns with THE TruThief experience that "we" claim to have). I can imagine it's harder for someone like this to take the "buckets of shit" than for someone who is rather detached from the subject and just doing his job. A lot of people here shout out their frustration about what EM doesn't get right. I think they do the same with us more often than not, wondering how we cannot think things through the way they do.

Well, I was talking with Adam all this time about the T1&T2 source code mainly, not about Thief 4, and I should say that it seems to me that he really tried to help. He asked many questions, much more than the two previous CMs both, which means to me that he was interested. Alas, there is still no result, and I don't know why :(. Nevertheless, I'd like to thank him for all his efforts and wish him the best.

Was he unable to find out what happened to the source code that was give to Eidos 3 years ago?

AFAIK, he wasn't. I suppose the source code has been lost somewhere at Eidos for the second time due to the very sad reason - Eidos legal department didn't and still doesn't give a sh1t.

@Shroud: Unfortunately the Shroud
is obtrusive right now (or at least a month ago when I had the chance to play it). But I hope, with XP points already gone and all that, that it can be disabled or will be left out altogether.
Maybe if they just removed the obstruction from the bottom part of the screen? Since Garrett's facemask only goes up to the bridge of his nose, below his eyes, and conforms closely to his face, so realistically it wouldn't obstruct his peripheral vision at all. His hood, on the other hand, probably would
slightly obstruct his peripheral vision, so maybe just have the shroud obstruct the very edges of the screen on three sides? Like a half-inch shadowy/blurry border in the shape of his hood?

I don't know if he was running the FB page but they were far from objective. The Thief fan page would consistently like comments that insulted other users or downplayed legitimate criticism.
Here, a taffer is taunted by another for speaking about (

Thief page liked his comments and even (
http://i.imgur.com/Mq9DSf0.png) EM's environment artist got in on it.
After I pointed this out, the posts were eventually edited and (

I've been following the activity on the Thief FB page to gauge what people are saying about the game. Things like I listed above were a common occurrence on the fan page. It may seem like a minor detail but a simple "like" can say a lot. Working in social media, it is prudent to be conscious of when we like something and the message it could potentially send.

@The Shroud: If you argue from the point of realistic vision, you'd have this thing always on and not just when in semi or complete darkness. But it's exactly then when it takes away your visual awareness despite the fact that you'd need the extra information because you're hiding and looking around for what's going on. I never wanted to pay attention to this feature, I liked the idea behind it, but it just felt like a wrong direction taken.
The Shroud on 17/10/2013 at 20:21
Well if it's really that obtrusive (and you'd know better than I would, as you've actually played the game), then yeah, it should probably be scrapped. Actually, wouldn't simply looking down at your in-game body to see how shadowed you are be the most intuitive way to determine how hidden you are? Would a light gem even be necessary if you can gauge the play of light and shadow on your body just by glancing down a bit?

@Shinrazero
I'm genuinely surprised at that Facebook stuff. There really isn't a positive way to spin that, is there? I realize the dev team are human, but imagine some Square Enix big-shot seeing that. If it were me, I'd be beyond furious.
