Moderators of internet forums are not the same thing as video game company community managers. The first are unpaid volunteers whose function is to keep order in the forums while the latter are paid employees whose role is to market the games and to act as a liaison between the company and the <s>consumers</s> fans.

Can't say I'm surprised.
I think he set the tone for his 'regime' fairly early when one of his first acts as Community Manager was to promote as Moderator two of the most knee-jerk defenders of the studio imaginable. People who had been guilty of full-on name-calling and personal insults directed at fellow TTLG taffers.
I know people here have had their issues with Viktoria, but she's quite unbiased compared to the people b1skit appointed as Mod upon taking the CM position.
I think whoever the next CM is needs to take a step back, just post news threads occasionally, and maybe run the odd contest. The 'damage control' and senseless bannings made Eidos Montréal look even worse than if they'd just left the Stephen Russell threads open to begin with.

Hardly, she's about the most biased person I've run across in any of the Thief forums. You could torture her and she wouldn't say anything bad about EM or New Thief. But one thing she isn't is abusive or offensive, and tbh, she seems like she's probably a pretty decent person IRL. Not sure you could say the same about those other goons running the show over there though.

She's said loads of "bad" things about NuThief, even on EM forums. When I say "bad" I mean saying she doesn't like x, y or z or that she things certain elements are not right for Thief, and not GD levels of frothy THE ABOMINATION ARISES TO TORMENT US nonsense.

She's basically a promotional agent, as is abundantly clear...Actually, she once told me she "moderates" at "8 official forums" doing this kind of work.

And it has to be something related to info that has been released specifically about the game. Not "I really hope blah blah blah feature is not in the game." Something more like "I really don't like the fact that New Thief has contextual movement."

Most anything I've seen her say has been extremely 'on the fence' or rather 'diplomatic'. The closest I've seen to ripping it lately was when she said, "we all know Stephen Russell is King". I wouldn't expect any moderator on an official forum to rip into the studio and expect to remain a moderator for long.
