I managed to fix the last bug where I couldn't unequip the pistol (see my other post) and now I'm facing a new one. I can't get LAM's. I just finished the mission taking out the generator in Hells Kitchen and even with room in my inventory I can't get a LAM! I pulled a few off the walls, I bought one off a junkie and they don't appear in my inventory. I had to use a cheat code to get through the broken wall to fix the valve for the mole people in the next mission. I tried the "summon" command, but it doesn't seem to work consistently for me and I can never bring up a LAM. When I tried Eidos support for my last problem, they said they don't suppoet Deus Ex when it runs under Windows XP, so I don't think they'll be any help.
Any advice?

Try running the game either windows 98 or windows 95 compatibility mode.

Thanks Sky. The game generally runs fine though, just these aggravating glitches. I'll try compatibility in Win 95. If it were a Windows version compatibility issue, wouldn't it not run at all or be graphically all messed up?
Antone else had this problem?
Anyone have a problem running DE in XP?
Thanks

I've tried DX using XP on a laptop. Very, very strange.
Random texture corruption, speed issues all over the shop (amusingly, the game randomly speeds right up, but the physics (i.e. gravity and stuff) don't, so there were incidences of NPCs running down stairs so fast they just shot off the top of the stairs out into the air at supar speed, and then supsequently plummeted to the ground at normal speed, killing themselves in the process...).
Interestingly, a "buggy as hell" missionscript I wrote worked perfectly on that setup, whereas it didn't on a proper comp.
But yeah: XP==bad.

my laptop ran DX fine after I used the cpu command line (I forgot what it was but it sets the speed so the game doesn't run super fast.

I´m using xp on AMD64 3200+, 1gb ram, Geforce 6600GT. Game has just a few graphical glitches, but nothing big. Tested on Direct3d.

Nope, I'm running it on my P4 desktop machine.
