Hello taffers.
This 1st (of hopefully many) Thief Speedbuilding Jam is all about creating a mission from scratch in two months.
This is not a competition, meaning there is no ranking at the end. However, there is a catch: there are six guiding themes you must choose from when making your mission.
You can choose any amount of themes to mix and match among these six to make your mission; it is entirely possible to choose just one of these themes, or all six if you wish. There are many themes to choose from in my list, but for this first edition I picked rather conventional ones.
These six themes are:
Quote:
Gaudy
Slum
Gem
Merchant
Cursed
IsolatedHere's some additional info:
* You can make your mission for any game (T1, T2, TDS and TDM).
* There are no restrictions in terms of resources.
* Team efforts are allowed.
* There is no real way to verify and this isn't a competition, but it's in the best interest of this event if your mission is made from scratch.
* The timelimit is mostly here for motivated taffers, it's OK if you release it after the deadline. It'd only mean the next Jam would be live if this one is successful enough.
* You can simply release your mission at any time during these two months, you may use a tag on your release thread, such as "Jam 1". You can always send your mission to me if you wish to release it anonymously (through PM, mail: skacky2002[at]yahoo[dot]fr or through Discord).
Deadline: December 1st, 2024 23:59:59 PTHappy jamming!

Hi skacky. This is awesome idea. One question though, any possibility to (at least slightly) elaborate on the themes listed?
Thanks!

Ok, so you want an FM about a Cursed Merchant Isolated in Slum for a Gaudy Gem?

I think the point is that they are intentionally vague so that you have to perform your own interpretation as part of working them into your mission.

Yandros is correct, you may interpret these themes as you wish.

where is the "distance/travel theme?

This sounds fun. A good time for beginners to get a small mission out the door (two months isn't long though, so try to keep that ambition in check). Also a good opportunity for some of the vets to come up with something strange/weird/experimental. Anxious to see what everyone comes up with.
