Thanks again for the work Fen!

It should be possible with the existing architecture but I think that the interface is awkward and maybe we could add some API thing to make it easier.
That said, TDM has an easy in-game mission downloader so the demand is low thus far.
Honestly it's just a minor nitpick. I don't even mind doing it manually. If there ever was a greater need for it you could probably more easily curb it with some sort of save backup instead or just an indicator in the mission downloader that you've completed a particular mission. I have to keep list of missions I've finished in a separate file because my memory is like swiss cheese. I don't want to nitpick it too hard though I'm glad it even exists.

Fen thank you for all you do for the world of Thief.

Hi. I have a large archive of fan missions from several years ago for both Thief and Thief 2. They're all organized under NewDarkLoader v1.5.8. Is there an easy way to transfer all that to AngelLoader or will I need to start anew? I really appreciate a dark theme, btw, which this seems to support. Thanks.

You can import your data from NewDarkLoader. Find the
Import... option under the main menu in the top-left ((

Maybe I should make this more discoverable? The initial startup settings window doesn't make any mention of importing from other loaders, but it probably should. A person could easily never stumble across the Import option as it's very tucked away. That makes sense from a certain perspective as it will normally be used once and then never again, so it shouldn't clog up the UI, but at the same time it's not obvious that it's there.

Another approach to the "hidden" import option could be to place a link or something like that in the startup settings windows or somewhere else where the player looks at. The link then leads to a "contents" part of an AngelLoader document/manual where the player hopefully sees something like, e.g., "import options" with ease. If you already have that, please don't sent a Hammerite Punishment Squad at me - I can't access AngelLoader right now, and can't check whether my uber-brilliant idea might already be there.;)

I just checked. No Hammerite Punishment Squad required. :thumb:
It's a good idea, too. I think putting Import in the left-side menu of the main Settings dialogue would work. Right now there's only four things over there, so it should be pretty visible there. Maybe a notification of the import system's existence on first load might not be a bad idea, either.
I have a minor, rare, edge-case bug to report. I've been separating/isolating specific mods out of different major mods so I can more granularly control how I modify OMs or FMs to avoid conflicts.
That was a long-winded way of saying I have a lot of mods listed in the mods tab, probably more than most people, which is why this is an edge case.
The bug is this: Sometimes when I scroll down to the bottom of the list, enabling or disabling any mods along the way, then scroll back up, AngelLoader inserts a bunch of blank spaces above the mod listed first. Everything still works fine, so it's not a show-stopper.
To reproduce the bug (sometimes*), 1) you have to have a mod list longer than the field will show without scrolling, 2) scroll most, but not all the way down, 3) check or uncheck a couple of mods, 4) scroll all the way to the bottom, then 5) scroll back up to the top. It will basically keep scrolling up passed the top, inserting more and more spaces.
*I say sometimes because I haven't been able to isolate exactly when or why it happens each time. It might happen more often if I click on either the Disable All or Enable All buttons.
The simple workaround is to just click on another mission, then click back to the mission you were on. The list of mods resets itself with no inserted spaces. Again, it's not a big deal, but I thought I'd let you know.
And now a feature request! If possible, I'd love to be able to right-click on a mission or campaign and create a shortcut to that mission. That way, for example, I could launch straight into The Black Parade without first launching AngelLoader, then clicking on the campaign's entry. (I'd still want AngelLoader open, though.)
I sort of have this working with a simple AutoHotkey script. The Autohotkey script launches AngelLoader, then just hits the Enter key once AngelLoader is fully loaded. But, of course, that will only launch the last played mission, not a specific mission. But for now it works for me like a shortcut straight into The Black Parade.
Anyways, it'd be neat to have a handful of shortcuts that launch my favorite missions just like they were installed games. I think people would especially find it useful for campaigns like T2X, The Black Parade, The Broken Goddess, etc. Just an idea. :)

Thanks. I got it working. A handful of zips from my old NewDarkLoader install aren't being recognized in their archive format (zip); also the recent The Black Parade isn't showing up until I unzip it. I have the archive paths set correctly. Is there a typical reason for this?
A feature request for future builds: changing the color of fonts if your programming language allows it. The default dark theme looks okay and is definitely preferable to the standard black text on white background but my favorite has always been yellow or green text on black.

Yes, this is always a convenient feature for a windows-based frontend with lots of entries so I'd like to request it too. Btw, how do I create a shortcut to a Thief mod? Using a command line?

I can reproduce. Looking into it.

Click the "Show FMs marked as unsupported game or non-FM archive" button (zip icon with a question mark). See if any of your unrecognized files show up there (including The Black Parade). If so, tell me their archive names.
The usual reasons for an FM not to show up in the list is that the scan failed and it's been marked as "unsupported or not an FM". A common reason for a scan failing is if the FM is incorrectly structured in the zip (like if its files are inside a subfolder inside the zip, instead of starting in the base folder). Apart from that it's hard to say. If your files do show up in the list with the above procedure, you can select them all, right-click and choose Scan FMs... and then when the scan is done look at [Your AngelLoader folder]\AngelLoader_log.txt and see if there are messages in there.
The Black Parade failing to be detected is unexpected though, it works for me.
Are you using the latest version 1.7.7?
