Has anyone found confirmation other than games websites citing the same source that we found (first  )?

Somebody contacted Eidos directly and they confirmed it, iirc.
But I can't find the source on that just now.
I just remember reading it.

Just out of curiosity, what was Project Snowblind like? Any good? Since it was developed by Eidos' Crystal Dynamics studio: it could give us a vague idea of how good a possible Deus Ex 3 could be, perhaps?
It was a fun game. The only problem I had with it was that it felt to me like they'd had a checklist and had to get everything on that list into the game. I'm thinking mainly of the vehicles.
In some ways I liked it more than IW- it wasn't pretending to be something it wasn't.

That's what I got from one of the reviews, a game not bound to anything that was just fun to play in spite of its flaws.
I'll try to grab a copy for my Xbox.

This is good news, but only if they get Sheldon Pacotti to write it.

Interesting. Considering the success of DX2 I'd say it's as likely as a System Shock 3, but it would be nice.
Quoting this for the world to see :laff:

Yeah, now I'm just waiting to see the Shock 3 rumor confirmed so I can keep my honor... :p
Honestly though, I'm still quite surprised, as DX2 tanked. Also, new studio /new team is promising but let's not forget they haven't secured the rights yet, apparently. I'm crossing my fingers but it's not yet a done deal.

I kept thinking about this, but then it occurred to me that the fundamental, number one problem with DX2, out of which all others blossomed (so the story goes) was something entirely preventable and even easily so. So the cards are still in their favor.
I think they just took a look at it and figured the franchise still has some cache, they shouldn't let this blackmark hold them back if it's the kind of preventable mistake that it was (e.g., it would have been much different if the market had just lost its taste for this kind of story and that's the reason it tanked, IMO.)

Yeah, we're still waiting for the final green light, aren't we?
*crossing fingers along with you*

I remember a dev saying that there won't be a SS3 as you can't make Shodan fail 3 times and still regard her as arch villain. It would demolish any credibility she still has and they never will do that.
And a System Shock without Shodan...well it wouldn't really be a system shock then now would it? ;)

If that's all that stops them, I don't have a problem with letting her win the third round.
I mean, it's all virtual anyway right...
... right? :erm:
