Suddenly, this thread becomes a lot more interesting...
I must admit I didn't follow Eidos' releases recently. Ok, I didn't follow anyone as I mostly play with old games, but that's not the point. Does anyone know if Eidos are dumbing down all of their games or if they still make, let's say... less "fun" games ?

woah, Eidos' boss himself confirms.
I can't wait to know how this will turn out. :thumb: I hope they get the rights back.

I remember reading in one of the interviews (or posts on ISA forums) that DX:IW was meant to be more of a branch going in another direction than straight sequel. Everyone expected a sequel and judged DX:IW as if it was a sequel though.

What Eidos France boss' says : Just like Ubi and EA did before, Eidos is going to open a new studio in Montreal in September. They are currently looking for premises, and 30 to 40 people should be working in it by the end of the year.
Its first goal will be to revive the Deus Ex franchise
, yet it has to be fully confirmed by the time the studio starts working.

Thread now with 95% less DX vs DX2. And 100% more HOLY SHIT! DX3! PLEASE LET IT BE GOOD

They'd better release an SDK for this one!

Something doesn't taste right. Has Eidos decided to move into the development business? They can plan to revive the franchise all they like, but they're stil going to have to farm it out to someone. If this is accurate, and if it ever happens, maybe they'll let Ubisoft have a crack at it.

Well, maybe the Montreal studio they are opening for that very purpose ? Or did I misunderstand what you meant ?
In any case they're probably going to gather a few developers from EA and Ubi Montreal angry or bored of their company (that Sébastien Guay might just be one of them, since he doesn't work at Ubisoft anymore). What's more interesting to know is who they're going to take to lead the project (and probably the whole studio then) and if they intend to try to gather famous names of 'alternative' videogaming.

Is there any kind of english-language low-down on this? Besides what we've got going here, I mean.

As for "if this is accurate", although it's obviously not official, I don't think the managing director of Eidos France will say a baseless rumor on a TV interview. If you doubt
Briareos H post, I watched the video and I speak French.
Twist on 15/5/2007 at 21:17
A few months ago there was a bizarre tease at (
www.deusex3.com). I came here to post about it, but when I tested the link in my post preview, it just redirected me to Eidos.
I haven't seen the teaser up on that domain since (it just redirects to Eidos). I swear I saw something! Any chance anyone else saw it? :erg:
It was a flash-based design with a slow dark blue swirl and some random bits of text that faded in and out at different positions. The text made little sense to me so I don't remember it. I remember thinking it had a sort of Deus Ex-like conspiracy flavor, but the specifics seemed like gibberish to me. At the time I wondered if it was a tease for a soon-to-be announced sequel.
But when I couldn't get it to load again, I... well, I was very confused. :erm:
And don't get too excited about Eidos having registered the domain. They registered it back in 2000.
