Realistically though, casual should be a tag on pretty much every game released these days.
Nope.

SpaceChem. Casual.

Barbie Dreamhouse Party. Hardcore. (or so the tags told me.)

Nope.
Realistically it should be on most, people just need to stop thinking of it as a negative, as it is a large and valid sector of games and gamers these days.

Can I use this opportunity to point out godwin's law is total bullshit? As an online conversation grows longer the probability of someone mentioning the nazi's approaches 1? What sort of obvious crap is that? Guess what, . . . if you're letting a conversation continue to an unspecified length, the probability of ANYTHING AT ALL HAPPENING OR BEING MENTIONED approaches 1.
(pretend the ... up there is something that would make the sentence make sense if this place weren't CBBC. MODS PLEASE STOP DOING THAT.)

You know, I find it funny how that's what Godwin's law actually says, and still I've always considered Godwin's law as some sort of comment about how Nazi/Holocaust comparisons in a conversation are beyond the pale, unless you're debating some truly horrible stuff. But that's not "what's in the law".
Also, Thief - "Role-playing physics simulator game".

I just find it entertaining that people think it's something that one can intentionally invoke somehow, as opposed to simply being an observation that all conversations online will eventually have a reference to Nazis.

I don't agree with these /v/-like campaigns of tagging games like "Gone Home" with "walking simulator" or "Thief" with "casual". Those accurate descriptions should be allowed to emerge on their own based on the impressions of the people who have played them. If Thief ends up being tagged with "franchise killer" or "illusion of freedom" or "animations over gameplay" then I can't argue against that, because no matter which tags end up topping the list, it's much more accurate than the tags chosen by the developers or publishers. In my opinion, tags are not supposed to advertise the game, but to describe its features.
Though here I am again, torn between wanting to restrict the tagging to owners of the games only, and not wanting to support only being able to voice your opinions of games that you have already paid for regardless of whether you wanted to support the developer for making them or not.
Though I guess it could be even worse than that. -If you could only see the tags of the games you already own. Including the tag "waste of money".

"Walking simulator" is actually a pretty useful tag, though. I like games like Proteus and walking simulator is a somewhat accurate description here. I wish there was a "hiking simulator" tag for games like Morrowind as I enjoyed the walking parts there too.
