What is it with this game I mean every time I read something on the web or in a magazine i always find out something new!?
Who / what is this invisible assassin?
The mysterious guy who supposedly follows you around.
If you're thinking I've gone insane I assure you I haven't I've just read a thread on the official forum about this exact topic.
I've heard rumours that this guy is an assassin sent by the Emperor to keep an eye on you.
I've heard rumours that this guy is one of the mysterious Brother's at the Dren plantation (the one who appears behind you when you assassinate his bro).
I've also heard rumours he wields twin glass daggers! (Which i very much doubt by the way.)
Any answers or thoughts would be appreciated. :)

'Someone is watching me, I can tell' is an idle message spoken by dunmer as is 'I could kill that guar. These boots are ruined'. Even so there are supposedly two Cammona Tong members stalking you, but they have nothing to do with that message other than the fact that they are dunmer and may utter it.
The game does glitch sometimes with those idle messages, I've heard the ordinator 'Submit to the three, the spirits and thy lord' idle (or is that one of their greetings, I can't remember which right now) in outside Vivec once or twice.

Well, it aint a dragon.
He can hear this, "I will slay you, your master, his master, and their pets... bring it."

This COULD be an explanation, although it doesn't seem likely...
There is a script for a character called Lucan Ostorius (he asks you to deliver some weapons to a guy in Ald'Ruhr) that causes him to appear behind the player and attack you if you enter Ald'Ruhr, leave, and then return without delivering the weapons... at least it seems like that's what the script does. Either way, I doubt this is the invisible assassin, as this guy should appear only when you enter Ald'Ruhr.

I thought it was the Sixth House haunting you.
I only noticed it start happening after the disturbing dreams.
And I could swear I'm hearing footsteps and seeing shadows move.
I think I'll go with the bunny theory though.

The evidence is all right there.

What about the 'rumour' that he carries double glass daggers?
Can someone who is good with the editor check a list of weapons for them?
I haven't used the editor so I don't know how it all works but I guess it wouldn't be to hard to check this.
It is possible in theory to have double weapons as long as they are the same and the pair is counted in the inventory as a single weapon with a single set of stats e.g. "pair of glass daggers".
Unfortunately i don't hold out much hope because I'm sure I read an interview with a designer where he stated double weapons weren't going to be included...

Hrm... one of the blighters in Dren's basement carries two glass daggers, but he only wields them one at a time. The 2nd's probably there in case he runs out of juice on the 1st one.
