Yeah the voice acting sounds extremely forced, in addition to all the other stuff.

Why would they want to choose such a generic grimdark setting over Thief's unique and memorable take on steampunk and film noir?
They had the golden goose right in their hands...yet, foolishly butchered it into a common duck.

This looks pretty much like Dickens in industrial revolution era London, complete with social commentary on poverty and social stratification.
They've got all the "DNA" for their NuDickens experience.

The voice acting is some of the worst so far and I'm not even going to comment on the content. Seriously, who writes this stuff?
Jersey NuBasso, might as well have been pissing on all the THIEF fans.

Also, they actually have a magpie in the game called Jenivere? I thought this was just a stupid joke. Why would they even do such a thing?
We've got some NuStuff named "Garrett", "Basso", "Jenivere", and "The City"...

They had grade A kobe beef, the fanbase wanted a nice steak; instead they ground the meat down and made a burger.

Still though, awesomes! A game that says piss

This is new? You mean it wasn't this bad before and now it's getting worse? EM is really falling apart up there. Somebody take them some coffee and doughnuts and tell them they're failing...miserably. It was bad enough to begin with, but they're just really struggling if they think this is a "good" change. Sheesh.:tsktsk:

So, what exactly is wrong with this trailer?
* Aping the 'Tales from Dunwall' mini-series and other Dishonored trailers in name and partly in contents and style.
* General lack of a subdued style, going all-in with trendy unimaginative flash-animated concept art.
* Distinct lack of shadow and contrast.
* Bad writing. Every sentence is cliché, everything has to be bad, 'mature' and grimdark.
* Usage of the word taffer which: a) feels all kinds of wrong in the sentence "some call him taffer" while it was a generic expletive in the original series ; b) because it is used mistakenly and only once, is an obvious marketing ploy to try to please the existing fan-base.
* Forced and over-the-top voice-acting (from a non-native speaker perspective at least).
Congrats, EM!

I think that, so far, this is the absolute worst video I've seen for this game. What a spectacular failure on every level.

I kinda like the bit that says: "If you're a wrong'n chances are you know me, maybe you owe me, maybe I owe you."
The rest of it is, just, bleugh.
oooh look it's Garrett, cut (abruptly) to exciting music!!! It's going to be exciting guys. Come on!
