Don't know if this is old news around here or not, but it was new to me... Stephen King's short story
N. was made into an animated graphic novel:

It's a couple of years old now, but this is the first time I've seen it. Apparently King took his influence from Machen's
The Great God Pan for this story, but I don't see much of a link between the two. In terms of classic horror, this is much more like Blackwood's
The Willows than anything else (especially the idea that even thinking about the otherworldly danger could bring it into being).
At any rate, I found it entertaining and thought I'd pass it along. This is about as close to Lovecraft as I've seen King get.

It does have some Lovecraftian elements (in terms of having an otherworldly monster and psychological battles with sanity, etc.), although that novel seems to me to be a bit further removed from what I would typically refer to as Lovecraft vs.
N.. I did like
It, but it just has a much different vibe.
N., on the other hand, could easily fall into Lovecraft's mythos and has a bunch of elements that seem to be pulled right out of a Lovecraft story. That's why I think it is "about as close to Lovecraft as I've seen King get".

King's story Crouch End, from the book Nightmares & Dreamscapes is also a Cthulhu mythos story, it takes place in that universe. But having never read anything by Lovecraft, I don't know how similar it is to his writings in style and tone. It could be that it just namedrops some Cthulhu figures but isn't similar to Lovecraft's writings at all, apart from that. I thought it was a good story by itself though, but I'm a fan of King's short stories.

"Crouch End" is very Lovecraftian. And, to some extent, so is "Room 1408" in Everything's Eventual. It's the only Stephen King story I read after 1999 that actually scared me.

So this N. series is cut into 25 pieces of 1 minute each, plus intro of 1 minute in each. And at the end the player jumps to some random piece.
Could they have made it any more awkward and annoying to watch a "series" that consists of 25 minutes playtime altogether?

Thanks dethtoll, I just read Room 1408 for the first time today. It does have a modern Lovecraft feel to it for sure. Good story... I didn't find it scary and it was fairly predictable once the horror got going, but it was good. Definitely made me want to finish it once I was a page or two into it.
And yes, the nishere.com clips are annoying, but hey that's what you get for free content I suppose.
