I think I've found a major source of instability: the EMP rifles.
Every single level with one produces messages from "NVspy" when it loads, and things go even screwier when I pick one up. There are still, unfortunately, random crashes on levels w/o the EMP rifles, but much MUCH less often.
Don't ask me why or how; I'm not that good of a ShockEditor to know.

Confirmed. Secmod2 is brilliant in essence but needs hell of a overhaul in stability, it's almost unplayable sometimes because of the bugs. The most peculiar one I experienced so far is that I was reset to the beginning stats, no cms, items, nothing, after I died once in Ops. I had to reload the previous save, if I didn't have it I would be screwed.

Uh...where's the power cell to open the airlock door at the beginning of the game? There's a broken cabinet nearby but I don't have Repair skill 3 so I can't fix it. Help?

Seriously, thank you. I look forward to playing Secmod as it was meant to be played. Especially since I plan to use it in my FM, should I ever finish it.

np, I used to discourage people from using Secmod like that because it was buggy and incomplete but if those bugs really are fixed with this patch (i hope so) then I see nothing wrong with it

I know this is bringing a dead post back alive, but i thought it would be better than creating a new one..
I actually only want to know if anyone have been playing Multiplayer with this mod yet and can confirm that it works, through the hole game? Would be nice to know before i begin playing with my friends.. :cool:
