Ya know, something just occured to me. Since when were Romans part of the Thief universe?

"Roman scientific achievements are mostly in the areas of medicine and engineering. The Romans invented a lot of new ways to mine for metals like silver and gold and lead. They developed water mills as well for grinding grain. And they were the first people to really use concrete for major building projects. The use of concrete helped them to develop the dome and the barrel vault and the cross vault. They used their vaults to build aqueducts to carry fresh water to towns, and they used their engineering skills to build sewage systems to keep their towns clean and healthy.
"Roman subjects in Phoenicia also invented blown glass, and mold-made pottery and oil lamps were also first made in the Roman period.
"In medicine, Galen wrote during the Roman Empire, and he was the first to describe many symptoms and treatments. His medical textbook was the standard for over a thousand years.
"The Romans didn't do that much work in mathematics, but they did develop their own way of writing numbers."
Kidding.

I think the recent Deus Ex 3 announcement means we can relax about the title of this game. They switched from Title Number to Title Subtitle, (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) so I suggest it's fairly easy to expect the same from Thi4f. It would mean that T2 is the only game in the series to have a number in the title.
(I only wish I could have seen the fallout from them briefly naming the game Deus 3x)

At least it will be obvious for everyone who cares that it is Thief IV, I mean TDS had "T3"s all over the place. I wouldn't mind the title unless it was called Thief Reloaded or something.

The simple FACT is this: There does not need to be a number ANYWHERE in the title.
The first game was Thief The Dark Project No number
The second game was Thief II The Metal Age
The third game was Thief Deadly Shadows No number
Only ONE of the three had a number.... and it was a roman numeral.
If there is to be ANY sort of argument for a number, then IN NO instance should it be a 4 or a IV. CONSISTANCY, people. It must follow suit and be roman four, and that is IIII and NOT NOT NOT NOT IV. The proper OLD SCHOOL way to write a four is IIII. Don't believe me, take a look at your watch or a clock. Not your digital watch, silly. The subtractive method--IV-- is modern. Thief is not about being modern.
Anyway, there should be NO number, just a title. The developers NEED to reinvent this franchise and OWN it. Building off of the past is NOT the way to go. MAKE it your own, Montreal.
