Hmm, I think it looks a little horror-ish. Too rough and wannabe-scary. That said, it's a very cool logo, but I wouldn't prefer it for Thief.

I doubt it's wannabe-scary, it's just an imitation of pen/quill (or whatever those keeper scribes use) strokes.
