Ahh, beautiful. :)
I can send you the layered version if you want to play with it some more.

Oh, that's brilliant. I had a go at reproducing the image in Photoshop, but it just doesn't compare ;P. I don't have the eye for colour, to match the sort of orangey-yellow in that logo. And I'm working with Photoshop Elements :P.

:thumb: I suggest Digi be hired by Eidos Montreal this instant! Or that they create a logo contest so that he can win.

If they'll ever see Mission X, they'll have to
for any compensation Digi will require.

Did another slight edit.
is there a reason the "T" is large, other than that it was in the original?
I might take a stab at vectorizing it in Illustrator, would people like this smooth style of lettering or the slightly misaligned look from the Dark Project logo? perhaps "IV" on the line below?

I wanted to leave the original Thief part as-is except for tweaking the brightness and cleaning up a little of the jpg artifacts. Here's the pdf in case anyone wants to fool around with it: (
http://www.digital-nightfall.com/thieftitle.zip) ... the font for the "project" text is dauphin.
I like the smooth style for this one, but I hope to see you experiment and come up with some cool things. :thumb:

I don't buy the numeral-must-be-left-off-to-appeal-to-new-players bit. Some of the most popular games of all time were sequels to lesser known games.
Exactly right - I'm guessing quite a few people who played Fallout 3 (for example) never played the original two games. If anything, it suggests to new gamers that the franchise in question is worth playing, otherwise it wouldn't be "sequel worthy."
It also can boost/revive sales of the previous games in the lineage.
