This morning I finished reading the (then) 47 page thread on this episode over at SA and they've got some cool ideas regarding Desmond and the hatch/computer/medication as well as Walt being dripping wet and (seemingly) speaking backwards
Gripping stuff.
The numbers are everywhere!

Got a link? I had a look but was unsuccessful...

Ah, didn't realise it was on the pay-for forums. I've never browsed SA often enough to fork out for membership... ho hum!

D'oh! I'd forgotten guests couldn't see everything.

It's not because I'm cheap... I'm not!

Finding yourself inside the bunker without realizing it at first was an ingenious way of starting the new season, IMO.
Desmond's appearence would have been way more effective if he'd already been introduced in a flashback of an earlier episode, though. So much for planning your story ahead.

Possibly but there has been a five month gap between the end of season 1 and the beginning of 2. That's a lot of time to forget someone who was in 30 seconds of footage out of 25 or so episodes

Yeah, that is a very weak point tbh. I remarked on this as soon as the Desmond flashback ended. It seemed so rushed and led to a slight air of disappointment and randomness entering the proceedings. How forgivable the use of a device such as "introduction of the shotgun five minutes before it's used to save the protagonist's life" depends entirely on its use! If it turns out that Desmond bumping into Jack was part of some wider plot, as it is most probable, then it can be forgiven since the audience would have questioned a background character prevalent in a main character's story if they weren't on the plane and hence it would have been obvious that they were involved.
If you get me...
