Look man, don't backtrack, you put the tags in because you know there are spoilers:
This:
"the black rock which is mentioned by the french woman is odd. Athough you don't get to see it until episode 25."
IS a spolier. How?
Because
I now know that they get to the black rock, and thay they only get there at EP25. And if I had only just started watching it I'd know there is a French woman in it, AND if I'd only see up to the transmission being picked up I'd know she is alive and turns up later. So yeah, 4 spoilers minimum.
averroes - you also have a possible spoiler in there.
You say
when Rousseau, obviously, doesn't translate it anymore
therefore
I think something happens to her in Ep25
If I'm wrong then PM me plz.

I started a PM, then since you pointed it out, I thought other people might be confused too, so I post here: you are wrong. :) It's just that... Well, I think you'll understand when you see the episode.
Apologies for messing up with your mind. ;) I'll try to change my sentence to avoid confusion.

Major spoilers if you haven't seen up to and including Ep12:
Does anyone else think Lost should be called Redemtion Island or something? I love the way everyone is getting to exorcise thier demons in some way.
I've no idea how they are going to not make it lame because at the moment the mystery is drip-fed in a gripping fashion and the cliff-hangers have become pretty good. The spookiness is being handled very well at the moment.
Locke is my favourite character atm, but I've a feeling I'll end up not liking him since he is being such a liar. He's met the thing and knows far more than anyone else it would seem. It's pretty trippy.
I've just seen up to and including 13. Damn interesting, sometimes the internal consistency is a bit wonky and often subjects are dropped despite being extremely pressing matters (Clare's abduction, hello?)... it's tosh, mostly, but entertaining tosh. I'm not expecting anything profound, but I'm willing to be surprised. :)
thefonz on 28/8/2005 at 15:06
in that case the episode where they meet the
group of wandering minsteral monkeys
will really blow your mind, along with the bit where Locke
wears Kates suspenders
not to mention when Walt
demands to play San Andreas on his XBox and his dad has to go hunting around the island to find the said XBox and game, which mysteriously turns up just as he leaves.
so yeah...PROFOUND isnt the right word.

I missed the first four episodes (that's all the ones shown in the UK so far, I think) but I've just caught up.
Holy crap this TV show is good. I don't think I've enjoyed a drama series this much in god knows how long.
Looking forward to the rest! :D

Finished the season today. Pretty astounding end. There are a gazillion and one cliff hangers though and I'm really worried that this could potentially snowball into a very lucklustre storyline which ties up almost all the loose ends with a really cliched deus ex machina.
I mean we've got:
The plane crash. The french expedition (if true). The Black Rock galleon. The island itself with monster/securitysystem/smoke and weird invisible tentacles. We had the chomped up pilot. We had Ethan. We've got whispers in the woods. Talk of Others. We have the French woman's altercation with Clare (scratches on the arms - linked with Ethan?). We have the cursed numbers (possible link between numbers and Kate?). We have the hatch. We have all these people with a subtly interlinked reason for being there. We have those guys on the boat who sound American and steal Walt.
So much... I really hope they can pull it off.
The hatch opening with the ladder and huge steel tunnel definitely opens up the idea of some government conspiracy type experiment scenario unless this is coming from way outta left field with some sort of crazy warped twin peaks universe where things don't necessarily have to make any sense...
Well the new season starts in the US soon so I guess we'll hear if it all goes to ass. It's been so good so far I just can't see how they can maintain it. But then that's because I'm a real pessimist when something starts of so well. Remember the Matrix trilogy? Potentially the best sci-fi trilogy ever, but in fact utter crap.
And Scots (and those who have seen the whole of series 1):
It can't just be a government consiracy thing since the numbers are too powerful for it to not be something really messed up. Nice rundown of the things we know btw. I especially liked the $23k that Kate mentioned. What's the bets that the numbers link everyone?
Oh, btw, just in case you wanted to know -

Interesting character-seat match up, no? And yes, I've seen
it . No, it's not a bad spoiler.

I just finished torrenting and watching the first season, as I missed about half of it the first time around.
It's great stuff, I can't wait for season 2... I agree with Subj about somewhat dispelling the ROGUE GOVERNMENT ELEMENT theory.
Also ENGLAND USED THE NUMBERS TO WIN THE THIRD TEST
