I'm not going to go to any lengths to defend this performing art. A guilty pleasure for sure. It's fun to laugh at the terrible writing and bask in passionate performers putting their hearts, souls and physical well being into something just to entertain people.
Men like Kurt Angle are willing to destroy themselves for our entertainment. His neck is basically mush after so many surgeries to it, but he still throws himself head first into his profession. This year at tje Lockdown PPV he jumped from the very top of the steel cage to the ring floor, a move that's still very dangerous despite all of the safety precautions that they have in place. It was thrilling to watch. That Angle vs. Anderson match remains one of the best that I've seen this year.

It's only six sleeps 'til Smackdown arrives in Auckland, y'know.
Of course I prefer more cerebral pursuits like watching thirty men fight over an inflated pig's bladder or some anonymous British Asian actor accidentally suicide bombing a sheep so shall not be attending.
'Macho Man' Randy Savage was cool. Hulk Hogan was shit. I was twelve and life was good
