Now you may have seen this in the news:
(
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/7398202.stm)
Synopsis: 2 young men in the UK have set up a "Jedi" religion because they really want to extol and live by Jedi virtues or whatever.
Anyways, whilst messing around in the garden a random punter jumped over the wall with a bin liner around his neck saying "Darth Vader" (not "shouting", you idiot reporters) and "attacked" them with a crutch.
It's on the video - they were filming it all.
This guys went to court because of the "attack" but has been spared jail. I'm not condoning attacking people randomly but these "Jedis" seem a bit wet. Watch the video. I heard them on the radio (4, aaaaah yeah big-ups PM y'all) and they sounded like nice sensible chaps.
Fact is - set up a Jedi Church and you've got to be ready for the Sith coming at ya mofos. The end is pretty funny - "Ah, really quite painful". Oh, fey.
There is a link on the BBC page to the Jedi Church (UK) site. I've found several other sites and can I just say could this be how new religion starts? Seriously, in 4000 years time these guys will be telling the tale of the First Sith (this binlinered twit) and the Epic Struggle of The Brothers. Seriously. Get a life people.

But which one was it, the master or the apprentice? There's always two of them, you know.

If they really were Jedi's they should have used the old Jedi mind trick to convince him he wasn't Darth Vader. Damn imposters! Can you imagine Luke saying "Ow! That hurt."?

I was going to respond, but the OP was just too damn British.

"Was it Abernathy? How about a warm cup of tea and a nice lie down?"

Barney Jones had suffered a headache after the attack, and Michael Jones a bruised leg.
Not trying to have a go at the British legal system, but that qualifies as "sufficiently serious to warrant a jail sentence" in the UK? Sure, any form of unprovoked aggression on another person should bring
some form of punishment, but two months' worth of incarceration seems a bit much for a leg bruise and bloody headache, in my opinion.

We're all talking about the legality, but the fact that this guy dressed up as Vader just makes me laugh hard.
