They should've rolled with one of those Irish names that isn't pronounced how it's spelled.

Joe Biden set up a Coronavirus committee of “experts” to politicize the pandemic, um excuse me, I mean to advise him.
But get a load of this, one of the guys on the committee believes all people should die by age 75. Ezekiel Emanuel (is that Irish?). Here's a quote from him:
Quote:
Here is a simple truth that many of us seem to resist: living too long is also a loss. It renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.
He's written before that the elderly should not get flu shots.
So Joe Biden, who is older than 75 by the way, put this evil ghoul on his committee to advise him on a pandemic that ravages the elderly. This is fucked up.
Quote:
the US is worse based on the level of stupid that we engage in, everyone is running like a chicken with their heads cut off over a virus that kills 3.4% or so of those infected
Think about what 3.4% + exponential spread actually means though. For comparison that makes it over 20 times more deadly than the flu people keep saying it's the same as. The logistics of just losing that many people (let alone societal disruption) is staggering.
This virus also disproportionately impacts certain genotypes among them both Jewish and Italian which is very bad for me, so I'm staying away from people for now.
Besides which a lot of Americans fit this stereotype and we have a massive percentage of people who are obese, have heart conditions, and diabetes all of which are significant risk factors:
Inline Image:
https://i.redd.it/x9qiybam1f501.jpgA huge portion of Americans look more or less like that (randomly picked Google Image Result) and that type of person generally has both a weak immune system to begin with plus chronic conditions resulting from their lifestyle that mean their mortality odds go up to about 10-15%.
Quote:
Having that publicly available black mark on his record cost him some business in his private practice, but the main reason why he stopped was that he couldn't afford insurance to continue. My other friend is unscathed by the ER, but stopped working shifts because he saw the rise in complaints, and saw that hospitals were not standing by their doctors. It became a situation where both doctors perceived there's only risk and zero reward for doing a better job. If anybody complains, nobody has your back, not your supervisors, the hospital, review boards, all their lawyers, or your insurance company.
Can confirm that's a factor. My own parent left private practice and has stayed some combination of government or government contractor for almost 20 years now just because the insurance and liability involved with private practice are insane and beyond his risk appetite. The medical profession is massively suffering from our overall societal trend of massive zero-defect mentality, risk averse, paperwork obsessed bureaucracy micromanaging the people who actually do the work to the point they can't actually work.

I wish this forum had an option: "don't even show the ignored posts". So I wouldn't be tempted to click the "view post anyway" button.
Tony, everything you write here is wrong, twisted, an outright lie, stupidity, misquoting, or just evil lying. Please stop reading Breitbart and other fascist media. Their goal is to misinform you, make you afraid, and their ultimately goal is to convince you to vote for the Republicans. Those media are useless. And in the end, they go against your best interest (and the best interest of the large majority of Americans).
Ezekiel and Emanuel are *both* Hebrew (Jewish) names. Not Irish at all. Didn't you tell us you are jewish ? How come you didn't know that, and I do. Also, on Emanual's wiki-page it is clearly stated he was born in Jeruzalem. Man, do you never even try to do some basic verification of the stuff you read ? When you have a question, can't you even look at wikipedia ? If you don't care about the nonsense you spout, how do you expect us to care about anything you say ....
It seems Emanual has written a book about the dilemmas in health-care when dealing with issues about life and death. Indeed, those dilemmas are often hard or even impossible to deal with. I'm willing to bet you that Emanual has never said "everyone above 75 years of age should die". Or anything outrageous like it. I bet that this is business as usual: Breitbart and other fascists misquoting others for their own political gain. They've been doing that for years now. (Need I remember you about the edited video of Biden that was posted here 2 days ago. That's the level of journalism you see on Fox News, Breitbart and similar others so-called "news sources").
The virus impacts Jews and Italians more than others ? Where the heck did you come up with that ? Highest risk groups are: the elderly, people that are already ill, smokers (and ex-smokers) and obese people. Please give us a link where someone is stating that Italians are impacted because of their DNA. I call bullshit.
Sigh.

Yeah, I remember when the Breitbart crowd brought up that same quote during the lead up to Obamacare, when Sarah Palin screamed about death panels on live TV, and rumors of forced euthanization being implemented in Europe spread about across the internet.
Don't let anyone tell you that the Tea Party conservative movement isn't based heavily in fear.

Hey, lowenz, what's the temperature and humidity been in Lombardy over the past several weeks?

I loathe how Comm Chat always seems to degenerate in a dick measuring contest, even in light of this ongoing crisis. You guys really are the best, sincerely.
I wish you all well.

I forget there was an ignore list. He's on it now. I won't be tempted.
