Latest CDC data by vaccine status:
Unvaccinated: 451 cases per 100k
Vaccinated: 134 cases per 100k
Boosted: 48 cases per 100k
Unvaccinated: 6.1 deaths per 100k
Vaccinated: 0.5 deaths per 100k
Boosted: 0.1 deaths per 100k
It's gonna be a few months before I'm eligible for a booster, but get one booked if you can.

Yeah, it looks like all but one (Paul Offit) of the scientists I follow are now fully on board with a booster / third dose for everybody. There was a paper from Canada that showed clear benefits of longer intervals between doses and got some people on board who had already been thinking that the first doses were improperly spaced. If I remember correctly, it was this one: (

Hmm.. I tracked down the CDC data, and actually it looks like the boostered people's line is pretty much hugging the fully vaccinated people's line when death is concerned (give the graphs some time to load in): (
https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#rates-by-vaccine-status). So the tweet is a bit misleading in that it doesn't mention this is only one single datapoint, and at different times for deaths and cases, no less. Also, he seems to have rounded some numbers, which is a pretty big no-no.

Perfect, that's the way to end this thing.

Most people don't get seriously ill from COVID. In fact, some people don't get any symptoms at all. The problem is that a not insignificant portion of people do get very ill.

A friend whom has had 3 shots of vax was on her way to celebrate Christmas via a long road trip. Along the way her husband commented about a horrible skunk smell on the road. "What smell?" Taking a hint, they pulled off and found a rapid test center in a town along the way. Yep, a positive hit. So far she's OK. Very mild symptoms. She's in her mid 50s and pretty healthy overall. She stays careful and masks up. Still, she got it. We all will eventually. Hopefully it has mutated into a very mild form and will stay that way. Time will tell.
