Yeah, have you seen the conspiracy thing though. "Delta Omicron" is an anagram of "Media Control" so they're saying it's the cabal revealing their cards because they can't help it: "symbolism will be their downfall". However all the media reports are verging on saying Omicron isn't as deadly, and that would clearly be contradictory to what "the cabal" would do if they were just making up the variants in order to scare people to take the vaccine.
Back to reality, Omicron does spread about 4 times faster than Delta. And like i was saying optimizing for that changes the profile of the disease, it's optimizing for rapid spread, not individual effect. Spreading *that fast* means that it's going to burn through it's own fuel supply of people really fast, so I am hopeful too.
