Don't forget bleach and sun-lamp suppositories.
Alternately there is ivermectin...

What's up with those vaccination rates in NZ? Only 20% of people fully vaccinated after months since it became available?
zombe on 22/8/2021 at 10:49
~20%? ...*rechecking* ... yep. That is incredibly low.
I think it is because their case total per 1M is 603 and they have not had any big breakouts since the initial one that was eons ago (which itself counts for around 50% of all cases). People probably do not see COVID as a problem they have to realistically face - that has been true so far (600 is nothing, 27 countries have it above 100K). That might change now as tackling the Delta variant has proven to be much trickier.

Maybe they all thought that touching Saint Jacinda's clothes would render them immune.

It's less that people don't see it as a problem and more that the doses just aren't there to have gone any faster, which is a combination of the government underestimating the risks of new variants, the government doing the ethical thing and not trying to outbid countries with a more immediate need than we had, and also the government being a bit incompetent when it came to the logistics of vaccination (so not reliably getting it to the people who need it most). They are kinda focusing on first doses right now IIRC, so as to provide some measure of protection to as many people as possible, so expect the partially-vaccinated numbers to grow faster than the fully-vaccinated.
It's hard to say how this outbreak is gonna go. We kicked its arse a couple of times before, but as these spreadier variants arise we can't afford to be complacent. I think beating it again is still possible, but it'll be hard and there are no guarantees.

New Zealand hasn't beaten covid on any occasions though, despite turning the country into an effective prison island, therefore it's not possible to beat it "again". NZ is the character in the horror movie who hides in the closet while the killer stalks the house. Celebrate if you make it to the end credits, and not before.

Bro we eliminated it several times, it only manages to get back in because disaster areas like the UK haven't been up to the task, so occasionally an exciting new edition of the virus sneaks through our border. And last I checked (yesterday, I think it was) our current strategy has popular support in the 80-90% range over here. People are mostly keen to get in, not out, which doesn't sound like any prison I've ever heard of. I know your tabloids are frothing about the government bricking everyone inside like Henry the Big Green Engine in the tunnel or whatever, but we're mostly just chilling out because a) it's not actually that bad and b) it gives us the best chance of minimising both the number of deaths and the number of people who get fucked up with long-term damage.
Also keen to hear how "we can't afford to be complacent" and "it'll be hard and there are no guarantees" is celebrating before the end credits.

Two people in my county today were admitted for Ivermectin poisoning. It's amazing. The same folks who tell you that you are a sheep for taking a proven vaccine will take worm medicine for horses because Fox News tells them to. You really cannot underestimate the stupidity of Fox News viewers.
