A gamers forum can't "censor" anybody. It can of course ban pesky users but it's nothing more than kick someone out from a *PRIVATE* house.

Speaking of conspiracy theories, the other day I happened upon a breadtube video about the anti-vax hysteria Andrew Wakefield kicked off. I knew that there was some bad science there and Wakefield was later revealed to have been a fraud with massive conflicts of interest, but somehow I never learned just how incredibly fucked up the whole thing really was. And then it gets worse. And then it gets much much worse.

Well, it's a WRONG line.
Only the state has the power and the *real* possibility to censor (with the justice system), no private institution can "censor" someone 'cause you can always speak/write elsewhere.
Private institutions of course can ban you from their space but it's precisely the goal of "freedom" (
THEIR freedom is the freedom to ban "personae non gratae" so maybe now you can admit "freedom" is NOT "
I can do whatever I want if I don't do anything bad"-thing)

You seem to be laboring under the false pretense that conspiracy theorists are "bad for society". What do you think the folks investigating Watergate would be called
before they had any leads about that story? Or any investigation of coordinated crimes by government before any hard evidence was available?

You seem to be laboring under the false pretense that TTLG is somehow a platform that guarantees or cares about how conversations *should* go. It's filled with people who largely have similar opinions about Things. You can tilt at that windmill all you want but your outrage at the lack of bi-partisanship and skepticism over speculations is ridiculous. This isn't a courtroom or a classroom, it's a water cooler and you're upset because no one agrees with you. And are now becoming hostile because you won't let it go. Consider yourself heard, your assertions rejected, and move on.

This video is great.
After watching this, I immediately bought and read the Brian Deer (
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-Fooled-World-Wakefields/dp/191161780X) book which he recommended and that was quite the ride.
The extent of Wakefield's fraud is mind-boggling.
It's exactly why you should always be extra sceptical of people who are charismatic.
