Last Friday, on Arte, I saw a registration of a live concert from 2019, (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1wOcPtXx8c#t=19m06s) Nouvelle Vague in a small club in Berlin. (BTW, I'm now in love with Melanie Pain. Not the redhead, (
https://www.google.nl/search?q=melanie+pain&complete=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X) this one). Fuck, that me realize I really want to go out, clubbing, meeting people, sitting whole nights in restaurants with friends. Once I get my vaccine-shot, I'm gonna party like it's nineteen ninety two thousand and twenty one!!
They came to Barcelona a couple years back, love them. :thumb:

That's odd because one major cause of tinnitus is being able to hear your own physiological sounds and blood whooshing through vessels as a result of tachycardia and/or hypertension is a very very common one.
Present! I can confirm :D But maybe it's not classified as tinnitus 'cause there's no particular neuropathological anomaly in those cases.

Maybe she's the one who has infected the husband thanks to worshiping.....that's the real madness.

Two months ago I spoke with an ex-girlfriend. We discussed covid-19, and how things would be better next year. When we have vaccines. To my surprise she said: "I'm not gonna get vaccinated. Vaccines don't work. They are a health-risk. They were all invented by the pharmaceutical industry to scam people out of their money". WTF? We went to the same school as kids, she can read and write. She's not an imbecile. Except when it comes to medicine. I have decided to not call her for another half year or so. Just to prevent us getting into a huge fight over the phone. :)
One good rebuttal for that is to point out that if someone believes that they must believe the whole pandemic thing is being deliberately hyped up to sell the vaccines.
But, if they believe that they must believe that they deliberately crashed the entire economy in order to just sell the vaccines.
However, if that's the case, what does she think that Big Pharma does with their profits? Surely, they put their decades worth of profits into investments, and crashing the economy either did, or risks, fucking everyone's investments, including the people who own the pharma companies.
So basically there's no possible way that the profits off
one vaccine's sales could be worth destroying decades worth of investments for the big pharma bosses. It's like saying Nike released a zombie plague so that they could decimate the Earth to market a new range of running shoes to out-run the zombies.

Thanks for your reply, but nothing makes sense. :)

That doesn't have any logic. There is no reason to believe the pandemic is being hyped up, or even created, by pharmaceuticals. The pandemic is here, because of whatever. Bad luck, mostly. She thinks the pharmaceuticals are just trying to maximize profit, like they always do. Rain is not created by people who build houses.

What does that have to do with vaccines? But yes, in a capitalistic world, if you can make a profit for your shareholders, no matter what, you are obliged to do so. If you can make an easy buck by crashing the economy, go for it. In a capitalist world, it's your duty.
But that has nothing to do with vaccines.

I wasn't explicit enough. The goal of capitalist companies is not just to make money, it's nr 1 goal is to make money during the next quarter. If you can make an extra dollar profit this quarter, but it will cost your company millions of dollars next year, go for it. Unless someone finds out now, and that cause your stockprice to tank. And FYI, if you're interested in what big companies do with profits? They pay dividends on their stock. Or they do stock buybacks to increase the stockprice per share. In both cases the profits flow to the stockowners. Usually the executives of any public company are partially being paid in stock, or in options, so they benefit hugely of this strategy.
Investing money into research is for losers. If you want to spend money to get new technology, just buy succesful startups. Don't invest in research yourself. Are you still living in the seventies?

I don't follow what you're saying.
But rest assured to understand that modern management of most public companies have absolutely zero problems with ruining their own company if it means bigger short term profits.

You do realize most of thos problems could be fixed if we Nationalized healthcoand replaced profit as a motive with caring about people, right?
Do you?

A few (4) anecdotal cases of people getting sick following a trial vaccine, and a lot of my high school class is now deadset on not taking any vaccine when it comes out, even if it has nothing to do with that one, and to not even mention that that's what drug trials and the long process towards approval is designed to find and fix and one wouldn't even get to approval if they hadn't already vetted its risks 100 times over.
This is like that story of 3 ballots being misplaced (which problem was fixed) but now democracy in a country of 300+ million is fatally compromised so I guess we support dictators ruling by fiat now.
These are the people that are going to be the death of us. My aunt just died of coronavirus and one of my favorite teachers is just holding on because US cases are out of control, and they want to pour gas on the fire. FFS.
Gryzemuis on 10/12/2020 at 23:38
I'm sorry to hear that, Demagogue.
Stay safe, everybody.
Hopefully it's just a few more months. And in the spring the virus should weaken a bit, like it did last year. And then the large scale vaccinations should start kicking in.
Starker on 11/12/2020 at 06:40
Sorry to hear about your aunt. I've been lucky to not lose any friends or relatives this far, but I know quite a few people at risk, so it's a constant worry.

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, dema - my condolences.
