Magnesium is something getting mentioned because of the heart issues, the part I at least can vouch for. They're saying 1/3 of, well I don't know what the target group is, total infected or acute symptomatic?, continue on with long covid, the majority symptom of which is dysautonomic heart rhythm issues. It's something you'd take after 2 weeks. But if it's like my case, I was completely asymptomatic in the first stage; not so much as a sniffle, and the arrhythmia was the first thing that ran over me like a tank before anything else, with no hints it was coming until it just hit one night.

Simple messages are best.
Disagree. If people see masks as either preventing them catching it or not, then any indication that masks aren't 100% effective can short circuit someone's opinion to "what's the point then?".
Bring magnitude into it, and you have a second reason to keep the mask on.
Simpl
er messaging is usually better, but simpl
est isn't always best.

Lower innoculum (dose of virus particles) does seem to be related to lower severity . . .
Thank you. I had been wondering whether there was any chance I might have picked the virus up in late February which was the last time I really went anywhere - to Reading. Since then I've always worn a mask everywhere and I've only been out in public about 6 times. But I don't think it's likely. More likely the symptoms are just old age.

On the other hand, aren't people as a whole getting less and less vitamin D from sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere?
Coincidentally I had my blood checked this summer. All was well, except my Vitamin D was too low. I was a little surprised, because I have never been outside as much as this spring and this summer. I did a lot of work in my garden, trying to make it look a bit more presentable. I caught a lot of sun. According to my doctor, that didn't matter much. When you are over 50, the body doesn't make enough vitamin D itself anymore. No matter how often you are outside. So I now I take a pill with vitamin D every morning.
I guess that when many people over 50 have a vitamin D deficiency, maybe without them realizing it, that might be a factor why older people are more susceptible to covid-19.

I wasn't.
You missed the sun whilst you were indoors stoned on that weed.

You are trying to annoy me, hoping that I will post another inspirational Piglet&Pooh cartoon, aren't you?
You win.

I'm not trying to annoy you, I'm just being logical.

Annoyingly logical?
SubJeff on 15/11/2020 at 13:13
If you find logic annoying, I guess. But that's reserved for people who don't understand logic or those too selfish to consider it.

I've been seeing more people wear masks. Instead of very rarely seeing a person with one, now I see maybe 2-3 people wearing them in crowded spaces. Meanwhile, there's a record amount of new cases: (
https://koroonakaart.ee/en)
So far i have been only checking the blog entries at (
www.terviseamet.ee) and ignored their stats page as it is an embarrassing garbage i find quite useless for any purpose i can think of. Had to dig for your post to remind where i can find the actually useful stats.
Which reminds me. How's the mask wearing around there now (probably better to ask that in a few days, but perhaps now is close enough)? I live, pretty much, in the middle of nowhere - you generally do not meet people if you do not actively try to meet them. And if you do then it is trivial to mind safety even if you choose to stop and talk for a while. So, no incentive to wear any masks the majority of time. So, my view of mask wearing is heavily skewed ... i think Põlva is the nearest city to me, but not sure. Pretty far from all of them.
