Yeah, it's scary how careless people are being right now. I don't go out much, a couple times per week, tops, but I haven't seen many masks even now that the rate of infections is picking up the pace.

That's Bangladesh, but you know, it's not like how we use trains is actually that different logistically.

It looks like being in the top or side would be more comfortable than being crammed inside!

Here in the Northeast USA, cases are on the rise again, possibly foreshadowing a second wave similar to the one hitting Europe right now. Around here, mask wearing is the norm outside of restaurant dining, and we haven't had any clusters associated with restaurants. Most of the clusters that have been reported on were associated with parties or weddings.
I expected schools to have a bigger impact. So far, we've seen some clusters of cases at colleges and universities, but not much at the elementary and secondary schools or day care. The biggest school in my state is the University of New Hampshire at Durham with ~12k students and there's been 158 cases there. Aside from that one campus, cases in schools have been relatively rare. Two other colleges/universities have had 16 cases, another had 10 and another 8. One high school has 9 cases originating from a party. Otherwise, all the cases in schools (students & staff) have been isolated.
Aside from the parties and weddings, I'm not sure what's behind the increase in cases we're seeing. About 1/3 of cases have no reported risk factor, which means they can't be traced back to another confirmed case, cluster, or event. So it appears the virus is still spreading through communities via asymptomatic individuals. Either that or people are lying to the contact tracers, which would not surprise me.
Anyway, I hope we get on top of this so that we don't follow the trends I'm seeing across most of Europe.
