It's amazing.
But then our PM had just encouraged people to go back to the office because the foot fall businesses are suffering. F your health. Get spending, proles.

Quote:
Infection of human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes with SARS-CoV-2 revealed robust transcriptomic and morphological signatures of damage in cardiomyocytes. These morphological signatures include a distinct pattern of sarcomere fragmentation, with specific cleavage of thick filaments, and numerous iPSC-cardiomyocytes that lacked nuclear DNA. Human autopsy specimens from COVID-19 patients also displayed marked sarcomeric disruption and similar fragmentation, as well as prevalently enucleated cardiomyocytes. These striking transcriptomic and cytopathic changes provide a roadmap to understand the mechanisms of COVID-19 cardiac damage, search for potential treatments, and determine the basis for prolonged cardiac morbidity observed in this pandemic.
Okay, got it. (I don't got it.)

It can tear apart your heart (cardiac muscle) from the very unit of the muscle fiber (it's called sarcomere)

Pretty much in line with the fears raised in the paper l linked to a while ago. You know, the one SD came up with a theory for that he could never explain.
This is what is worrying about this. The deaths, sure, but the long term effects in everyone who survives are such an unknown.
I was thinking about this today. There are people in the USA who think this is hoax. Do they think it's a democrat hoax or do they really think it's an international leftist conspiracy?

The thinking in the US administration right now appears to be (and it seems someone actually came out and said it in public recently) is that everybody is going to catch the virus eventually.

In fairness, the prediction that 70% or more of the world might contract Covid (if it becomes a endemic, seasonal disease over many years) has been a part of many credible scenarios for many months. What differs here is the fatalistic tone of the message from Trumpville and the importance of NOT having everyone get infected at the same time, i.e. the need to flatten the curve and not crash our hospitals. Trump's policies (or lack thereof) are a recipe for just such a crash, including hosting super-spreader events like the torchlight RNC rally at the Trump House.

If it's like the Spanish flu, then within two or so years it will evolve into a much less lethal form just by natural selection. That's what I understood is the major alternative.
