Though my blood sugar levels are perfect. That was surprising, considering all those brownies I eat.
Bite bite give, man. My sugar levels aren't but fuckem.

And to think that our political opposition in parliament here wanted to follow Australia's approach to the lockdown.

Fatality rate is most definitely a dubious number because you have no idea about these subtle differences in the stats collection.
The standard method of counting "covid19 related deaths" in the UK is anyone who ever had a positive test result, so it'll end up at a minimum of 298,681 over the next 80 years or so from those who've been tested over the last few months.
(that may or may not be what's being measured on SD's chart, I've not seen that one before)

I think that point needs to be taken in context. People might assume that deaths should always have a clear indicator about the cause, but nature isn't under any obligation to care, and this disease is particularly careless about things that are important for policy, like easy to trace, early indicators, longlasting antibodies, clearly indicated as cause of mortality, confined range and duration of symptoms... Natural selection just didn't pick those things, and the place to direct one's frustration towards for it is the disease itself.

Compared with healthy controls and risk factor-matched controls, patients recently recovered from COVID-19 had lower left ventricular ejection fraction, higher left ventricle volumes, higher left ventricle mass, and raised native T1 and T2.
Very similar in nature to recovering from a heart attack.
The crazy thing is that only a third of their sample had initially needed hospitalization, meaning that this is about your everyday Joe recovering from the infection at home having their cardiac function impaired, not the small fraction of people who were in such a bad shape that they needed intensive care. This could be huge.

That's exactly the point Briareos - these are mostly people who recovered at home. Not even people who needed hospitalisation but not HUD/ICU or ventilation etc.
You could get it, have a cough and fever for a few days. Feel crap but recover and thing "phew, I got away with that" but in reality you've now got cardiac issues for the rest of your life.
And there are reports of pulmonary damage too.
This is far darker than people get, and we've entire nations of idiots arguing the toss over wearing masks, going on holidays and the inconvenience of having to socially distance in shops!

So far, it looks like unlikely that we'll acquire long term immunity after infection. So if don't suppress the spread of this virus, there may be people who go through multiple bouts of the disease.

Where on earth do you get the idea that I'm consigning anyone to death?
People need to start reading what is actually written. To listen to some of you, you'd think I was suggesting we start deliberately infecting old people with the virus.
It's almost incredible that I have to write this, but acknowledging that older people are at much greater risk from coronavirus than younger people is not the same as thinking it to be a good thing.
You need to learn when to shut up and listen to people who understand SCIENCE, okay sweetie?

I don't know how we help people hurt by this. 41% of all businesses in the US are closed permanently and that's not OK. I guess we can thank the toddler in Chief for bungling the response but I don't know how we recover from this.

She alleges alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, and that scientists are cooking up a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. And, despite appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on Monday, she has said that the government is run in part not by humans but by “reptilians” and other aliens.
