Being PJ Media, I'm sure there's a lot more to that story than a simple "the woman just planned to EXERCISE HER RIGHTS, and she was OPPRESSED BY TYRANNY!"
Listen. We're in an emergency situation. Let that sink in for a second. It's Literally a case of life and death for potentially millions of people. The good news is that it's temporary. It'll be over soon so long as we all keep level heads. But in the meanwhile, anyone who decides to throw a temper tantrum they can look like they're "fighting the revolution" in front of a crowd bored, stupid mouthbreathing fuckwits on social media, they're not just risking their life, but making themselves a liability to everyone around them.
No one has the right to endanger other people. Fine her stupid ass.

Man, Facebook depresses me more and more. The inane, irresponsible and batshit crazy nonsense people post about Covid and what we should do about it. I wonder what people will do in the days to come, if we're going to face a second wave (when the first wave is only just starting to subside a little bit over here, thanks to all the measures taken) because people refuse to act responsibly. It's not just the conspiracy loons, there are also a lot of fairly well-written opinion pieces that claim we should start opening things up again, which I believe is the worst mistake we can make right now. I've had a slight misanthropic tendency for most of my adult life now (I like individual persons but not people in general that much, I have my reasons) and this doesn't make it better.

the yob was done properly the first time the death were diagnosed as something else, going back after the fact and guessing w/o testing is BULLSHIT.
They weren't diagnosed as something else. They were diagnosed as having coronavirus as the probable cause, as per CDC guidelines.

You know what I think our problem is? Most of us here live comfortable lives in wealthy 1st world nations. We don't have much to worry about. None of us are gonna starve. Wars are distant things that happen to other people thousands of miles away. Disruptions to our lives are usually pretty minor and personal in the grand scheme of things.
We all lack the emotional maturity to handle real issues like this that necessitate a national response. It's new to us. Requires us to act in ways we're not used to acting, to make ourselves temporarily uncomfortable. We're showing ourselves to not be willing to do that, so instead, we're instead trying to rush everything in order to get back to normal as quickly as possible, and blame as many people as we can along the way back.
We're incapable of taking this seriously, and it will burn us.
...and I'm beginning to think it may need to happen. Let it burn.

you are talking about "potential" that has NOT manifested itself even at the global scale.

"Throw your rights away." Do you really think this is the first time we've shut down businesses, quarantined people at home, and put strict curfews in place to combat an epidemic? It's not. We did it in 1918 and again in 1920. This is nothing new.
The only difference between now and then is the response. Then, people were like "yeah, I don't want to get sick." Now? "I'M A BORED ASSHOLE WITH SHIT FOR BRAINS HOPPED UP ON ALL THE FUCKERY I READ ON THE INTERNET AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE WORLD WORKS HURR DUURRR."
Spare us your goddamn stupidity.

BECAUSE THEY CAN'T TEST EVERYONE, YOU STUPID FUCK! How many times does this same basic fact have to be beaten on your head until it sinks in? Jesus Christ!

common sense is on the losing end of this one for a variety of reasons, and NO I DON'T place liberals in the common sense area, you guys go full nazi in a heart beat and that shit is scary as fuck.
there is a pandemic going on, and while 1-2 percent sounds low it's seemingly enough to overwhelm our HC system just like the HC system of other countries that are dealing with this.
on one side you have liberals who are happy to fine/jail people for listening to mass even while inside their cars and placing people in jail for going out to the beach, on the other side you have the alex jones crowd talking out of their ass with bullshit conspiracies that even involve 5g towers. you have a world wrestling federation hall of fame president fucking things up & you have even worse shits like Lord Farqaad from michigan going all nazi with powers they DON'T have nor that they ever should. it's an amazing recipe for the biggest cluster fuck ever and we are in the thick of it. NY's stupidity only fueled the righties and I was disappointed as shit seeing liberals embrace bullshit guidelines.
our POS GOVT's response is not something MOST people can afford, 1200 does NOT cover shit here in Kommiefornia, or NY for that matter, our unemployment is at an all time high and people can't handle being at home for long periods of time, it's fucking STUPID to now herd people into concentrated areas where they are more exposed nowadays because or moronic leaders can't seem to understand that we are not meant to be kept indoors for long periods of time (games/pot heads/introverts/military members being the exceptions). people need somewhere to go other than the grocery store and walmarts; the way shit is NOW those suffering from cabin fever are going to make 20 trips to walmart just to get the fuck out of the house, guess where those guys are going to get infected? yeap at walmart.

Right now, we have 750,000 confirmed cases, and 40,000 dead.
That's a fatality rate of around 5%.
Pretty sure that's an "under-detected by 80% rate", lol. Places with lots of testing (e.g. South Korea) have tended to come up with fatality rates of ~1%. Overall I think we'll have more luck extrapolating the number of infected from the number dead and the estimated fatality rate, than trying to estimate the fatality rate with inadequate testing.
