1.It seems we're the only 1st world nation that's forcing it's citizens to risk the lives of millions to save their livelihoods.
2.We're kinda fucked if we do, fucked if we don't. If we could have endured another month, we'd be on the downswing of this. We could start doing the phased progression back to normalcy, spend the next few months being careful, and we'd have this thing beat with
3. only minimal damage to the economy, and a better case scenario on the number of deaths.
4.It seems we can't even do that. I guarantee you we'll have a number of states wide open before May 1st rolls around, right when we just pass the crest of number of infected. We'll see a repeat of what happened in 1918, when some cities broke quarantine too early, and experienced another peak.
5 I wonder who Trump will blame then.
6.I wonder how many people who attended these rallies contracted coronavirus.
7.I wonder who they'll blame.
well that is just it
1. 2 million WORLDWIDE infected and deaths well under 50k? come'on.
2 again with our govt being ruled by a bunch of retards it's no wonders the locals are restless. thoe M'fers are getting their damn haircuts and doing as they please while they tell others to stay the fuck inside blah blah blah.
3 the damage is done, how many are going to close because they operated on thin margins to begin with?
4 everyone doing their own shit is like having a peeing section at the pool, shit simply does not work, liberals bitched at cheeto hitler because he wanted to close things down and then bitched because he wanted to open things up saying he did not have the power to do it, make up your damn minds.
5 already shifted blame to the states where it actually belongs, dumb fucks had mardi gras & then cried because trump did not tell them to shut down? please.
6 hard to say, Darwin might visit them AND anyone else who comes in contact with them and they can't see that.
7. everyone but them.

If the demand is not going to be there when you open up the economy...
I'm expecting the demand to be answered the moment Trump announces the end to the stay at home order. People will stream out, and try to resume their lives as usual. They'll probably practice a bit of social distancing, probably carry some strong hand sanitizer with them, but they'll forget it soon enough. Once everyone's past that first week, it'll feel like old times again. We'll all be taking things for granted.
Then we'll see a repeat of what happened in March, a new 2nd curve upwards. It'll start out with a trickle. The talking heads will say it's nothing to worry about, just the residuals hanging around. Then it'll increase, then increase again, slow and surely, and so on and so on. Once it gets to a certain point, we'll start reimplementing the stay at home orders. This time though, people will be more resistant to it, thinking "god, not again." You'll have the liberate blah people saying that they've tolerated enough tyranny, and they won't just ignore it, they'll openly flaunt it from day one on.
This time, it will properly spread, and the results will lean more towards the worst case scenario rather than the best. More people will die, the economy will take an even worse beating than it would have if we just stayed the fuck inside for another month, and this last month will be for nothing.
You know the old saying about those who don't learn from history being doomed to repeat it. This is exactly what happened to the cities that broke quarantine early back during the 1918 pandemic, and hey, it's what happened a month ago, when everyone was doubting it back then.
Do we really want to go through this a 2nd time? Apparently we do, but now with gusto.

It's not up to Lord Dampnut, though, or protesters, it's up to the consumer. If the demand is not going to be there when you open up the economy, if the people aren't going out to dine and wine and spend, guess what will happen then? If you think businesses can't afford to close for a month, guess how well they can afford it when they still have little to no income and a full payroll and other expenses.
Somehow, all over the world, governments are handling this. They are paying 70%-100% percent of a lot of people's salaries, so that companies can afford to keep them on the payroll. And that's what a state is there for -- to provide that security net. But of course this wouldn't work in the US, because that's socialism.
thanks for pointing out it's not up to the mango messiah.
the consumers can't do shit IF the business have to do what the states want, open your business here and face a fine, people are getting $1000 fines for being alone at the fucking beach..............
why are our POS cock sucking governors getting THEIR damn haircuts and doing as they please while they mandate others are jailed or fined ? this do as I say & not as I do is why we end up protesting .....
well, why others protest, I am keeping my midget ass home and going out just for groceries .

Yeah, and we're just three months into this. Just over a month here in the US. Do you really think we're nearing the other side of this?

You said it. The damage is done. May as well try to take the more responsible route, but no...

When the fuck did the liberals bitch about the shut down? There was some static from the China ban, but they didn't complain over the worldwide travel, nor the stay at home orders.

Given that the federal government was there offering threat assessment, and they were specifically asked if the parade should go on, give the potential for an outbreak, yeah, they do deserve some of the blame.
But hey, why blame one group when there's so much blame to go around? To be truthful, no one here in the US took this seriously until it was upon. Not Trump, not Cuomo, not anyone.

There's currently no evidence that this will be slowed down by the heat and humidity. It's not the flu. It has its own behavior.

Did it slow down in Australia? Or other places with warmer weather?

It's not growing super fast there, but it is growing. I think they're nearing 7,000 cases.

1 yes, summer baby.
2 made bourbon chicken and chicken fried rice. the bourbon chicken sucked and I loved the chicken fried rice.
3 most can't afford that. guessing they will try to salvage what they can by defying the state.
4 interweebs.
5 exactly.
6 because it's easy to blame one side :p
7. EXACTLY why I opted to play safe and stay home, last thing I want is to be the reason why my older brothers/sisters got sick, not only that just like other countries WE can't afford to overwhelm our hospitals.

New York City has made a devastating revision to its already massive coronavirus death toll.
On Tuesday, the city's health department released a revised COVID-19 death count that included those who were not tested but were presumed to have died from the disease
shit like this is why the alex jones crowds are jumping up & down , liberals going full retard just making shit up based on feelings does not help keep the conspiracy nuts down.
Renzatic on 19/4/2020 at 01:22
They've already been classifying coronavirus deaths from probable victims, per the CDC guidelines. The Alex Jones crowd has already been running with it.
It's nothing new.
There's one story I read about a pregnant woman who caught a severe case of Covid-19. She was on the ventilator and everything. The stress ended up putting her into labor, and she miscarried her child. That was counted as a coronavirus death, because the CDC guidelines say that any death that occurs either directly to coronavirus, or due to complications from it, should be counted as such. The conservative crowd lost their shit over it.
