Lurking? Didn't you invite him here? (smiley-face)

Thanks to Trump for encouraging Putin to further annex Eastern Europe, shot down Boeings, poison people abroad, and do things like this via his subjects, Russian prison in Yaroslavl:

Lordy, there are tapes:
Quote:
(
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/20/us/politics/michael-cohen-trump-tape.html)
WASHINGTON — President Trump's longtime lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, secretly recorded a conversation with Mr. Trump two months before the presidential election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording.
The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohen's office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohen's involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election. Prosecutors want to know whether that violated federal campaign finance laws, and any conversation with Mr. Trump about those payments would be of keen interest to them.
The recording's existence appears to undercut the Trump campaign's denial of any knowledge of payments to the model. And it further draws Mr. Trump into questions about tactics he and his associates used to keep aspects of his personal and business life a secret. And it highlights the potential legal and political danger that Mr. Cohen represents to Mr. Trump. Once the keeper of many of Mr. Trump's secrets, Mr. Cohen is now seen as increasingly willing to consider cooperating with prosecutors.
[...]
For a decade, Mr. Cohen served as one of Mr. Trump's most trusted fixers, aggressively taking on journalists, opposing lawyers and business adversaries. He frequently taped his conversations, unbeknown to the people with whom he was speaking. New York law allows one party to a conversation to tape conversations without the other knowing.

This is also Trumps view, unfortunately. Forget that Trump has no hard line with Russia as he coat tails on congresses hard line though he has done nothing but accommodate them. He does not care that they cheat for him. Cheating doesn't matter as long as it is cheating for him which they gladly do. In that two hour meeting I wonder if they discussed how Donald would pay Russia back for their help but in the end it does not seem to matter with Republicans. As long as Trump wins Russia can fire bomb all of Europe, make a mockery of democracy, and they are happy.

Lord Dampnut, a hardliner on Russia? The same guy who softened GOP's platform on Russia and later denied it? Who from day one set to work on lifting Russian sanctions until Congress got so alarmed about it that they took action? Who said Russia should be back in G8 and that Crimea belongs to Russia, because people speak Russian there? Who raged and screamed when he heard the US had expelled more Russian diplomats than any other country? Who, without consulting or giving any advance notice to US military, unilaterally cancelled joint military exercises with South Korea -- something that Putin had personally asked for? Who has constantly questioned Russian interference in the US elections despite being presented since day 1 with solid evidence to the contrary? Who praises Putin in every step of the way and very publicly throws the US and its allies under the bus in favour of Russia? Yeah, the only hard line here seems to be his hard-on for Putin.

Speaking of Russia, here's an interesting tidbit related to the hacking of the DNC -- Lord Dampnut's campaign substantially changed their strategy after Russians stole DNC's analytics:

Former FBI director James Comey pleaded with Democrats Sunday not to veer toward the “socialist left.” The tweet was a follow-up to an earlier message from the longtime Republican that urged Americans to vote for the Democratic Party in the November elections to protect “the country's values.”
if this is not proof Comey was on the democrats side all along I don't know what is. Clintons investigation turned into a "matter", immunity deals while destroying evidence etc etc etc.
