I don't know anything about John Brennan but he does have a lovely turn of phrase.
I read that John Dowd has resigned. By all accounts, Trump is gearing up to fire Mueller. I wonder what scenario would take place if that happened. About half a dozen strong Republican 'don't do it' comments which I don't think would be enough to be very helpful.
I don't have a clue about what might happen. I know Trump could be impeached but still remain in office. Would someone else be appointed to run the investigation or would the investigation be over. Could Mueller be reinstated. What could happen?

Question, do you get sexual gratification from the thought of making imaginary people angry? It seems to me to be a widespread fetish nowadays.
I too would like to know the answer

If Mueller's fired, first there'd be hell to pay, since it'd make him look supremely guilty. An investigation that, at least in part, potentially involves the man who has now very conveniently removed two people who headed said investigations wouldn't be easily excused.
Even the Republicans would voice their concerns. Whether they take the initiative to actually do something about it is another matter entirely.

Trump is ready for (
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/03/the-president-trump-prepares-for-war-with-mueller) war! We're finally getting to the good stuff. You can probably guess my favorite part from this.
Quote:
One outside adviser to the White House said Trump has recently mulled the concept of creating a new West Wing structure without a chief of staff, one that would instead have four co-equal principals reporting directly to him. Trump seems to be loving his new freedom. “He was fucking excited and jubilant,” said one Trump friend who spoke to him in recent days. “He was like, everything's great and these fuckers in the media are beside themselves.” But Trump's self-liberation comes at a dangerous moment, with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation reaching closer and closer, stoking Trump's impulses to go to war. Earlier this month, Mueller crossed one of Trump's stated “red lines” when he subpoenaed Trump Organization business records. According to four Republicans in regular contact with the White House, the move spurred Trump to lose patience with his team of feuding lawyers. “Trump hit the roof,” one source said. Today, Trump's personal lawyer John Dowd resigned under pressure from Trump.
That's right, the allusion to: I go on roof you say in German!!

Trump without any mitigating influence isn't exactly something any of us should be looking forward to. By this time next year, we could be engaged in a shooting war with Canada for all we know.
Though as far as Mueller goes, so long as Sessions remains as AG, his job is safe.

meh, Canadians will just surrender like the French......................

We'll find out soon enough. McMaster just resigned as National Security Advisor. John Bolton is now in.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we're now 6 months away from the next great American foreign policy quagmire.

We have a foreign policy?

As far as the Middle East is concerned, it's usually "bomb lightly and noncommittally" or "bomb heavily, and commit full on".
You might as well gird your loins for the inevitable. We're going to war with Iran.

So I've been amusing myself by shitposting in some of the "against the GOP" and "Against Trump" Facebook groups....and HOLY SHIT your side is batshit crazy. I've actually had to back down because I hit a wall I'm not willing to cross.
I started mild by asking what should be done about Russia. The most popular responses were "sanctions"....then about tied after that were "Cyber warfare" them and "Send seal team 6 in to take care of Trump".
I then escalated by posting a picture in a few places of Trump behind a nazi flag photoshopped to give a Nazi salute calling him a traitor and saying he needed to be stopped. The response was even more dramatic with a huge number of positive ractions and a larger number of people calling for Trump to be overthrown and executed.
Now I've escalated by posting the infamous Kathy Griffin photo with the caption "Kathy Griffin did nothing wrong". Similarly large number of positive reactions including some comments to the effect of, for example, "too bad it wasn't real".
Next post was justifying saying that we should protect people who've assaulted Republican lawmakers saying the're freedom fighters. Again, all positive responses, assent, and amplification. A side note was me posting saying that we need to "fight back" and challenging everyone to find out who their Republican co-workers are and get them fired for racism.
I've got a grand total of....ZERO pushback. All agreement and assent no matter how batshit unhinged my comments and posts are. The only way I can escalate further is to post things that would get the FBI or Secret Service on my ass and that's not a line I'm willing to cross for a psychological experiment/joke.
The anti-Trump crowd now scares the shit out of me. What's bizarre is the composition: all of the most virulent hate is coming from middle-aged, ugly white people who look like your typical trailer park trash.
And these aren't even "socialist" groups or anything that far left. The branding on these pages is fairly mainstream Democrat.
