He's feeling great now he says.
Of course - he's on a dexamethasone high. Idiot.

Here's an (
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/10/04/world/trump-covid-live-updates) NYT article containing the double-barreled WTF quote from Dr. Conely, the White House physician.
Quote:
“I didn't want to give any
information that might steer the course of illness in another direction, and in doing so, you know,
it came off that we were trying to hide something, which wasn't necessarily true,” Dr. Sean P. Conley, the White House physician, said in a briefing with reporters Sunday.
That would depend on whether A. press releases can alter a diagnosis and B. whether what you said was actually true or not. Wouldn't it?
Farrrrrk.

Speaking of which, the following quote might be parody and not an actual quote from Dr Conley:

The President is fine and steadily improving. Purely as a precautionary measure, he was been given a full body transfusion of Rocky Mountain bat blood which he tolerated extremely well and has even developed some primitive echolocation.

He really should be asking them to expose him to lots of UV light and possibly intubate him with it too. I mean, since he's been becoming increasingly pale lately, it basically doubles as a replacement tan, so why not?

He didn't look well at all on the balcony.

As soon as the steroids wear off the guy is going to crash, and he's hell bent on showing that he isn't crashing, since sickness is one of his signs of weak people that deserve to be pissed on which must be avoided at all costs. We may just see total narcissistic collapse sooner than we thought, if the disease doesn't get him first. The whole situation is really pathetic in a special way.

The president's carelessness about others' safety shows he will do almost anything not to lose in November
The desperation that has driven Donald Trump to leave hospital prematurely and theatrically pull off his mask on the White House balcony while in the throes of coronavirus infection gives some measure of how dangerous the next four weeks will be.
Many students of Trump's life and career have warned that he would be prepared to sacrifice anyone - even those closest to him - to spare himself the humiliation of a one-term presidency, but even they surely could not have anticipated how literal that sacrifice would be.
It involved creating a culture in the White House in which the wearing of masks was scoffed at, and seen as a sign of disloyalty, the worst sin in the Trump court. Trump drove home the message on Monday night, staging a spectacle of his return to the White House maskless, with photographers forced to be in attendance. He has produced a toxic workplace to the point of potential lethality.
A super-spreader event was held there to make the most out of Trump's nominating Amy Coney Barrett to the supreme court - exploiting the opportunity of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death, and then the president and his considerable entourage fanned out around the country in pursuit of campaign funds.
It included Trump's insistence on leaving hospital on Sunday night and driving around the block to drink in the adoration of the small crowd of faithful that had gathered at the gate. In so doing he obliged secret service agents to get into a hermetically sealed armoured car with a patient showing full-on symptomatic coronavirus.
The bodyguards are there to take a bullet for the president, not to take one from him, but that was in effect what Trump was demanding they do for a photo-op.
Amid the ensuing outrage over his insouciance, Trump appeared not to appreciate the point: that he had shown no heed of the safety of others, even loyal public servants. His reaction only served to prove that same point. He did not grasp that these people had significance.
“It is reported that the Media is upset because I got into a secure vehicle to say thank you to the many fans and supporters who were standing outside of the hospital for many hours, and even days, to pay their respect to their President. If I didn't do it, Media would say RUDE!!!”, Trump tweeted.
What stands out is the president's sense that he was the victim once again - and the only other people who mattered were those who had shown their personal allegiance to him.
No one really thought that Trump would emerge chastened from his brush with the virus (if the encounter is truly over - his doctor has stressed he is not “out of the woods”). But not only was he unrepentant about the White House's cavalier approach to masks and social distancing, he has reinforced it.
“Don't be afraid of Covid,” he tweeted. “Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge.”
Entirely absent was any acknowledgement of the more than 200,000 dead, the many more suffering serious and long lasting symptoms - and the reality that some of the “really great drugs” he was given at Walter Reed hospital were experimental and way beyond the reach of ordinary patients.

Four years ago, Trump didn't expect or even really want to win, but got chosen anyway.
Now, he doesn't just want to win - he doesn't dare lose, he's getting too much legal cover by being President. So here he is, sick with a potentially deadly disease, pushing himself to work when he really should be resting. Trying to salvage a campaign that's looking even worse than the last.

FYI, Trump will never be thrown in jail. That's not the American way. He won't stand trial. He won't be convicted. He won't even be indicted. Don't get your hopes up.

Well, according to reports, when he's not signing blank pieces of paper, he spends a lot of time in bed watching TV, so it's not like him being at work makes that much of a difference. Also, the White House has world class medical services available. It's good to be the king.

My opinion hasn't changed. Trump will come out of this and brag about how he beat it, and then use it as a talking point. He'll downplay the threat of the virus and belittle people who are being cautious to avoid it. He'll tell his supporters they have nothing to fear by going out and voting in person. Etc, etc.
I also think the election will be closely contested. National polls mean nothing. The electoral college and the current red state/blue state political divide mean that less than 10 states are really in play and the rest won't affect the outcome. In those states, no minds are going to be changed and it's all going to come down to which party can turn out the most voters. Several of those states have Republicans in positions where they can help suppress votes. Trump's supporters are more motivated and ready to show up at the polls. Biden faces the same risk that Hillary Clinton did. His support is soft and the national polls show him with a big lead, so some of his potential voters might just stay home and assume others will show up to vote Trump out of office. Biden voters are also more likely to vote by mail, and the USPS is not on his side. Also, the Trump campaign is preparing to contest as many of those votes as they can, disrupt polling places with "poll monitors" as much as they can get away with, and any other dirty tricks they can think of. It's going to be ugly and I doubt either candidate will accept the results on election night. It will play out in the courts, and afterward there will be no question about whether the judicial branch has been politicized.
