Yep. I am one of those Wisconsinites who is laughing my ass off about that fact. And I just got my new voter registration card in the mail, indicating that I will be voting by absentee ballot from here on in; I'll be damned if I'll let the GOP-dominated state legislature & Supreme Court fuck me over again like they did for our state primaries. I've called and sent emails to my state representatives lodging my complaint that I was dropped from the Wisc. voter registry rolls (I went over the list of reasons 240,000 of us had our names dropped and none of those reasons applied to me..... except that I almost always vote a straight Democratic ticket, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it, right?), and that on April 7th we were forced to choose between doing our civic duty and jeopardizing our health. I'm going to keep calling and sending emails, too. Enough is enough, ffs.
P.S. I might need to borrow bail money from you guys.

We got website(s) in the Netherlands that claim that at the DNC, it will be stated that Biden won the nomination, but that he's withdrawing. For whatever reason (personal, health, etc). When that happens, the DNC has to come up with a candidate for the elections. And they will nominate Hillary. They make it sound like it's a done deal. If we have lunatics in my country thinking this will happen, I'm sure there are many more Americans who think this will happen.
So I heard that at today's daily press-conference about the Corona-virus, in stead of talking about medical stuff, Trump decided to show the journalists a few of his new election-campaign promo-videos. Cool. And that NBC (and other newsstations) have now decided to not broadcast the President's press-conferences anymore. Until he stops campaigning in those. Yep, that was broadly reported in our media.
I said it before. To all Americans here. "Good luck with your country". You can't make this shit up, even if you tried.
Edit: more news (from the BBC). Trump has finally figured out who is responsible for the crisis. It's the WHO. They didn't react quick enough. As a true mobster-don, Donnie has decided to end all US funding for the WHO. That'll teach them right. You can't make this shit up, even if you tried.
And more: Florida declares WWE an ‘essential business'. Of course.
I don't see Hillary getting the nod this time around. but yeah I don't think Biden will be the one facing trump

So hey, Trump's cut funding to the WHO, claiming they were responsible in aiding China in covering up the dangers of Coronavirus.
It's obviously another means for Trump to deflect blame from himself. The WHO declared coronavirus a global health emergency on January 30th, 6 days after (
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1220818115354923009) President Trump praised China and President Xi for their effort and transparency in containing the virus.
The dude is fucking pathetic.
Not to defend Trump's deflection of blame, but the WHO's (
https://www.thenation.com/article/world/taiwan-who-coronavirus-china/) behavior towards Taiwan doesn't exactly show it to be an apolitical organization putting lives above all else. You're right, the WHO didn't declare an international health emergency until January 30th- (
https://www.wsj.com/articles/taiwan-virus-case-highlights-chinese-efforts-to-exclude-taipei-from-world-health-organization-11579634031) over a week after the disease went international, Vietnam was observing person-to-person transmission, and Taiwanese doctors were urging action, but China was insisting that everything was under control. Now, Taiwan is pretty much the model for how to successfully contain the virus, but the WHO is continuing to praise China's actions (despite their slow response, suppression of information, and demonstrated ineffectiveness of their initial quarantine measures) and take the official numbers coming out of China at face value.
They may not have actively covered up the disease, but they publicly downplayed its severity, even while field teams in Wuhan were reporting human-to-human transmission. And they continue to praise China's response, and case numbers that are already known to be under-reported.
I don't want to see the WHO off the hook just because the GOP is trying to pass all blame onto them.

You're not wrong. The WHO put themselves into a incongruent situation, trying to do their job while making every move possible to appease China. They deserve a lot of flak.
But they don't deserve the sole blame for our lackadaisical response.

Great, just great. Trump is now encouraging citizens (basically, his supporters) to rebel against governors in states where a stay-at-home order is in place. Oh, and he's thrown in the 'save the 2nd amendment' bit as well. Wait, isn't that called 'inciting to riot', which is a federal offense? So now we're going to have groups of Trump's 'very fine people' openly rebelling (with their assorted firearms) in states where our governors are doing what they're supposed to be doing, which is protecting citizens from this horrid virus? Yep, nothing like inciting riots during a national pandemic.
What a total shit show. *smh*

It's all part of a coordinated astroturf campaign. But putting a bunch of unhinged loons in front of the camera, who is that supposed to appeal to?
Tony_Tarantula on 18/4/2020 at 16:47
I actually have to endorse Biden.
Trump's May 1 lockdown goal is suicidal and will result in millions of deaths. His press conferences look like an orange baboon trying to write calculus equations with crayons while proudly flaring it's ass at the camera and he insists on pushing his insane anti-science, anti-facts agenda against all odds.

He also insisted on gun stores being "essential".
There's also an estimtated ten million people on the alt right. That means there's a lot of people who are hateful and looking to take out their frustrations on those they hate, but are now probably not working in their useless jobs (because, again, these people are unintelligent, uneducated, yahoos). Trump has made sure that they have the means to hurt people and he bears responsibility for every person that these insane fascist-sympathizers will murder.

If you hate it here then GTFO, you fascist. I hear they have a president down there who is more to your style.
