Apparently, the newest talking point is that the Epstein files, which don't exist and were written by top Democrats, are simply too boring:

President Trump on Tuesday said he did not understand why many of his supporters were so fixated on the case of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, as uproar over Epstein-related documents has stoked discontent among members of his base.
“I don't understand it, why they would be so interested. He's been dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life. I don't understand what the interest and what the fascination is. I really don't. And the credible information has been given,” Trump told reporters as he departed an event in Pennsylvania.
“I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring,” Trump added. “And I don't understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going.”

Meanwhile, the computer boys and, in some cases, gals over at Wired have raised more questions about the "credible information":

https://www.wired.com/story/the-fbis-jeffrey-epstein-prison-video-had-nearly-3-minutes-cut-out/)
Newly uncovered metadata reveals that nearly three minutes of footage were cut from what the US Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation described as “full raw” surveillance video from the only functioning camera near Jeffrey Epstein's prison cell the night before he was found dead. The video was released last week as part of the Trump administration's commitment to fully investigate Epstein's 2019 death but instead has raised new questions about how the footage was edited and assembled.
WIRED previously reported that the video had been stitched together in Adobe Premiere Pro from two video files, contradicting the Justice Department's claim that it was “raw” footage. Now, further analysis shows that one of the source clips was approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds longer than the segment included in the final video, indicating that footage appears to have been trimmed before release. It's unclear what, if anything, the minutes cut from the first clip showed.
[...]
In response to detailed questions about how the video was assembled, WIRED sent a request for comment to the Department of Justice at 7:40 am on Tuesday morning. Just two minutes later, Natalie Baldassarre, a public affairs officer for the DOJ, replied tersely: “Refer you to the FBI.” The FBI declined WIRED's request for comment.
On Friday, WIRED published an analysis of metadata embedded in the video, confirmed by independent video forensics experts, which indicates that the file was assembled from at least two source clips, saved multiple times, exported, and then uploaded to the DOJ's website, where it was presented as “raw” footage.

The leaks have started:

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/07/17/politics/epstein-birthday-letter-trump)
A collection of letters gifted to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003 included a note bearing Donald Trump's name and an outline of a naked woman, according to a Wall Street Journal report published Thursday.
The drawing, depicting a woman's breasts and a “Donald” signature in the place of pubic hair, surrounded several lines of typewritten text, according to the newspaper, which reviewed the letter. It concluded with the line: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, the letter bearing Trump's name was included in a birthday album assembled by Ghislaine Maxwell, a close Epstein associate who was convicted of child sex trafficking in connection with Epstein. She collected the letters from Trump and dozens of others for Epstein's 50th birthday, the Journal reported.
The album was later part of the documents examined by Justice Department officials who investigated Epstein several years ago, according to the newspaper.
Trump was photographed with Epstein — a financier who socialized with a range of politicians and other powerful figures — on multiple occasions throughout the 1990s and early 2000s and was among those who appeared in flight logs for Epstein's private jet.

Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell is now angling for her sentence to be overturned:

Amid an explosive fight on Capitol Hill over whether the Trump administration should release records related to Jeffrey Epstein, the family of the disgraced financier's convicted right-hand woman is saying she "did not receive a fair trial."
Ghislaine Maxwell, 63, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for recruiting and grooming teenage girls for Epstein to sexually abuse, several years after he died in jail awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. She is being held in federal prison in Florida and has filed a petition with the Supreme Court to vacate her 2021 conviction.
"Her legal team continues to fight her case in the Courts and will file its reply in short order to the Government's opposition in the US Supreme Court," Maxwell's siblings said in a statement released Tuesday on a website dedicated to her case.
The family's defense of Maxwell comes amid a recent politically charged fight over the release of documents in Epstein's case.
Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus, said in the statement that he would be "surprised if President Trump knew his lawyers were asking the Supreme Court to let the government break a deal," referring to a 2007 agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida.
"He's the ultimate dealmaker — and I'm sure he'd agree that when the United States gives its word, it should keep it," Markus added. "With all the talk about who's being prosecuted and who isn't, it's especially unfair that Ghislaine Maxwell remains in prison based on a promise the US government made and broke."

The Epstein-Deep State conspiracy seems to have staying power. It reminds me of a quote from Inception:
Quote Posted by Dom Cobb
What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm?
An idea.
Resilient... highly contagious.
Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere.
I think belief in deep state pedophilia might be stronger than support for Trump among some of his supporters. Some folks are feeling torn. The White House communications strategy on Epstein has been non-existent, so they've created a nice little mess for themselves. I suspect Pam Bondi won't last long.

I have it figured out. Since Trump found out he was all over the Epstein list he destroyed all copies. Only then everybody knew they had been on Bondi's desk so they started an uproar. He tried to quell it with distractions like telling Washington they had to go back to a racist slur for native Americans.
Then he saw even that wasn't working and he has sent one of his minions to make a deal with Ghislaine Maxwell to recreate those on it who are only Democrat or Hollywood but without Republicans or him since he was all over the original. He will pardon her for that list. No way he could remember the original since he is senile and wasn't very bright to begin with. He will present the new list as if it is the only one there has been. It will look bogus as hell to anyone with a brain but that leaves out his faithful.
Maxwell gets pardoned when he leaves office. Deal done.

Oh the "files" are still there and they won't vanish. Instead there is (
https://www.axios.com/2025/07/18/epstein-documents-trump-fbi-senator) a monumental effort by Trump to erase his name from the records.
Quote:
Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said about 1,000 FBI agents were instructed to "flag" any records related to Jeffrey Epstein that mention President Trump.
They took agents out of the field to purge the investigative record. I believe that is obstruction?

Leaves office. How delightfully optimistic.
