Yes, I think that's where this is going. Trump has ICE using Gestapo-like and in many cases illegal tactics when they're not necessary. There's still no crackdown on employers who hire people illegally, which would do more than anything else to discourage migrants from coming here. So I don't believe the real goal is to stop illegal immigration. It seems they're deliberately trying to provoke a response that Trump can use as an excuse to declare emergencies and use federal law enforcement to take control of Democrat-majority cities. At the same time he's purging government and reinstating the spoils system. I think the end goal is breaking Constitutional government and wielding dictatorial power.
It won't end if Trump is gone. The folks riding Trump into power in Washington aren't the type to follow the intellectual lead of William F. Buckley or Irving Kristol. Or even Jordan Peterson. A lot of them are into neo-feudalists like Nick Land and Curtis Yarvin, while the tech bro branch is into the network state, eugenics and transhumanism. It's important for us to realize that these people have different belief systems and don't share common interests with us. It used to be that regardless of party, nearly everybody in American politics believed in the ideals of the Enlightenment, American Revolution, US Constitution, and liberty. That isn't true any more. I don't know what to do about it, because I don't know how to respond to people who reject rationalism.

Not yet. But getting the military under his control for 2028 has to be one of his goals. He's got to do some more purging of military leadership first, and create a special division of troops 100% loyal to Trump to take and hold the US Capitol. A "Presidential Guard" or something like that. The Trump supporters I know think I'm exaggerating and it could never happen. They call it TDS. In a couple years, they'll be arguing why it's necessary to protect the country from woke traitors who want to steal all our money, give our homes to migrants, and turn us into a nation of gay drones for the Chicoms. Or something along those lines. They just haven't been told yet.
