The Muskovite attempt of buying a state supreme court election has backfired:
Quote:
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Judge Susan Crawford preserved liberals' narrow majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court Tuesday by defeating conservative Brad Schimel, but in a way the real loser of the election was billionaire Elon Musk.
Musk and his affiliated groups sunk at least $21 million into the normally low-profile race and paid three individual voters $1 million each for signing a petition in an effort to goose turnout in the pivotal battleground state contest. That made the race the first major test of the political impact of Musk, whose prominence in President Donald Trump's administration has skyrocketed with his chaotic cost-cutting initiative that has slashed federal agencies.
Crawford and the Democrats who backed her made Musk the focus of their arguments for holding the seat, contending he was “buying” the election, which set records for the costliest judicial race in history.
[...]
Musk duplicated and expanded on some of the methods he used in the final weeks of last year's presidential race, when he spent more than $200 million on Trump's behalf in the seven swing states, including Wisconsin.
This time, in addition to the $1 million checks, Musk offered to pay $20 to anyone who signed up on his group's site to knock on doors for Schimel and posted a photo of themselves as proof. His organization promised $100 to every voter who signed the petition against liberal judges and another $100 for every signer they referred.
[...]
Musk is now whining that judicial elections have become corrupt, which, I mean, he's not wrong, but...

But... Soros...
I laugh at him coping by highlighting the voter ID amendment as the real victory, when Wisconsin already has a photo ID requirement for voting.
This result only means they will double down on voter intimidation and disenfranchisement for next year's midterms.

More and more details emerge about innocent people sent without trial to the El Salvadorian torture prison:

The Trump administration acknowledged in a court filing Monday that it had grabbed a Maryland father with protected legal status and mistakenly deported him to El Salvador, but said that U.S. courts lack jurisdiction to order his return from the megaprison where he’s now locked up.
The case appears to be the first time the Trump administration has admitted to errors when it sent three planeloads of Salvadoran and Venezuelan deportees to El Salvador’s grim “Terrorism Confinement Center” on March 15. Attorneys for several Venezuelan deportees have said that the Trump administration falsely labeled their clients as gang members because of their tattoos. Trump officials have disputed those claims.
But in Monday’s court filing, attorneys for the government admitted that the Salvadoran man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, had been deported accidentally. “Although ICE was aware of his protection from removal to El Salvador, Abrego Garcia was removed to El Salvador because of an administrative error,” the government told the court. Trump lawyers said the court has no ability to bring Abrego Garcia back now that he is in Salvadoran custody.

Frengel Reyes Mota was supposed to be dealing with his ongoing asylum case as he fought for his chance to stay in the United States. Suddenly, he instead found himself locked up in a mega prison thousands of miles away.
“He’s in the torture prison in El Salvador,” Mark Prada, Reyes Mota’s lawyer, told Immigration Judge Jorge Pereira during a hearing on Monday at the Krome Detention Center in western Miami-Dade County. The hearing had been scheduled before Reyes Mota was sent out of the country.
Reyes Mota is among the hundreds of Venezuelans that the Trump administration deported earlier this month through the use of extraordinary wartime powers based on a 1798 law. The administration sent them to the Terrorism Confinement Center in El Salvador, claiming they are members of the notorious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
But the 24-year-old father does not have a criminal record in Venezuela. His U.S. immigration detention records are riddled with mistakes, raising questions about how reliable they are. He does not have tattoos and his family members deny he has any gang ties.
[...]
Reyes Mota and his wife decided to come to the United States because they saw no future for their child in Venezuela. In 2023, they became part of the seven million Venezuelans who have fled economic turbulence, political repression and widespread poverty in their native country.
Liyanara Sánchez, Reyes Mota’s wife, described him as a reserved man, a loving husband, a dedicated father and pet lover. In the United States he painted houses for a living. He carefully budgeted to buy treats and clothes to spoil his adopted dog, Sacha.
“He’s the most beautiful person. If you need something, he’ll be there for you,” said Sánchez. “He’s a hard worker. He’s never left us without food or housing.”
At a young age, he chose to build a life with Sánchez, who was already a mother. To the boy, Reyes Mota was more than a stepfather — he was a true father, someone who stepped into the role with love and commitment, embracing the boy as his own, his family said.

Trump levels (
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-escalate-global-trade-tensions-with-new-reciprocal-tariffs-us-trading-2025-04-02/) 10% across-the-board tariffs on
all imports, with even higher rates for some countries. Lol, what? That's gonna take us into recession if not depression town in no time, and drag half of the planet down with us.
Just take a step back and consider masses of Republicans salivating over their President leveling a huge national sales tax on literally every product that has foreign parts or even US parts affected by foreign parts, keeping in mind his #1 promise (okay #2 promise after performatively terrorizing foreigners) was to lower consumer good prices and how George Bush #1 got crucified in the 1992 election just for saying "Read my lips: no new taxes" before supporting a minuscule tax not even a splinter of a fraction of what this is, and which he was railroaded into and even the conservative economists were saying were necessary. This is all completely unilateral and gratuitous; not only not motivated, but taken for granted as a supremely horrendous idea by every schlump with an economics degree.
This is some messed up shit that high school history students 100 years from now have no chance of comprehending, assuming truthful US history is still even taught.

There will be short-term pain for long-term gain.
Meanwhile, the lunacy and domestic terrorism continues...

Well good on you for finally calling out the Trump administration.
There is nothing short term about the suffering average Americans are going to feel.

Burning a few cars is terrorizing and causing suffering?
When did the Americans get so soft and comfortable? In France (as the stereotype goes), it's a yearly festival. At least, it used to be.
Investigate Leon the Muskito and your Dear Leader, instead of being concerned for a few vehicles. A few cars are nothing compared to all the damage being caused across departments by the former or the economic scale of the damage the latter is about to cause across the whole country and parts of the world.

Oh. I thought you were referring to Trump's January 6th Insurrection or his rape of America and the world.
The bonus fun starts around the 8 miniute mark where Maddow reveals how Trump chose Peter Navaro (architect of the disastrous tariff gambit) as his financial advisor.
Trump handed the recruitment job to Jared Kushner, who read book blurbs on Amazon until he discovered "Death By China", co-authored by Navaro, who repeatedly cites an economic "expert" named Ron Vara. Ron Vara doesn't exist. Ron Vara is an invention of Peter Navaro. The name is an anagram of Navaro.
And that is, in large part, why America is burning.
So Vae, that is domestic terrorism. Be certain, many people will die as a result of Trump's stupidity and the complicity of his MAGAt minions. And that was part of the plan all along. There is only one life that matters in MAGA world and that is DJT. Everybody else is disposable, including you.
