What's the over/under that most US citizens will be swearing fealty to our lord and savior Donald J. Trump sometime in the next four years?

I am worried that Tulsi Gabbard may be a Russian asset. But I don't think she will be confirmed.
Tulsi's primary loyalty is to SIF - the Science of Identity Foundation. It's the cult that she and her parents are high level members of. Both her ex-husband and current husband were prominent SIF members, with her ex-husband being the nephew of the guy who runs the "schools" (read: indoctrination camps) for the cult leader. The staffers who ran her campaign were all sent with direct orders by the cult leader of SIF to assist Tulsi in her campaign.
Tulsi Gabbard was *specifically* groomed by the leader of SIF to exert his influence in politics, and while you could see that as just a stepping stone for her, the fact that everyone related to her and whom she married is also in the cult indicates that this is a primary loyalty for her.
So she's not a "Russian Asset" she's an "insane cult leader's asset" and any pro-Putin thing is just politics of convenience, since SIF don't actually have any policies they can articulate without sounding insane: "ultimate power for Living God Emperor Chris Butler" isn't something that Tulsi can promote, so they've always had to glom onto other stuff.

I know all about that. But the cult is the least of my worries. Like the Church of Scientology, it keeps a low profile and doesn't appear to have a foreign adversary pulling its strings. You should read up on her views of Russia and its allies like Syria. Like her habit of consuming Russian state media and visiting Syria in support of Assad.

There's also the fact that she's opportunistic to a fault. She will fully try to take advantage of her position unlike Hegseth, who is picked mostly because he is very likely to do Lord Dampnut's bidding without even understanding how to implement it or what kind of the problems it might cause.
While Hegseth's position is the more powerful one by far, the DoD is also an immense juggernaut that's not easily changed, with decades worth of all kinds of interests built into it. And Lord Dampnut and co seem to be mostly concered with pointless superficial things such as banning women in combat roles, preventing transgender people from being able to serve in any position, renaming some bases once more after traitors, and leading a witch hunt for anything that looks like a DEI initiative, as the US military has faced some seriously crippling recruitment problems lately and has been trying to broaden their appeal to build a more diverse pool of recruits. As for preparing the US for future conflicts, especially with China, I'm not sure anyone in that position would be able to do that with Lord Dampnut in charge. You'll just have to pray that China doesn't get any ideas during the next 4 years.

What seems to be shaping up to me is a power play for a new form of government that follows a more cult like system with a top down worship supported shift to control of the populace. The yes men military to use force without thought, the ridding of actual science in the medical field to thin certain populations and the sowing of distrust and uncertainty against any intellectual authority, the cult system of mind control for collection and dispersion of information and misinformation to confuse the populace and tell it what to think, all of it seems headed to a more 1984 style of government.
Look for further demonization of independent thought and culture war ferocity tilting at windmills. More than anything they have to either gain total control of the voting populace or total control of the voting system. They can't allow a disruption of the steady turn away from freedom to control. What they have been saying about the other side is their playbook. But you turn a battleship slow and they don't want to risk too harsh a jar that would possibly wake people up, however, after the last election and the lack of character of who was elected, I don't see that happening so things may speed up now. The Trump\billionaire dynasty has begun and there is no longer any trick too dirty for them to use to stay in power. They have made the internet kneel with Zuck and removal of fact checking and soon all media.
The word of the day and the rest of the future is CONTROL.

Again...I wish Trump was half as awesome as you guys make him sound in your unhinged paranoiac fever dreams.

There is no question any longer that he intends all of it. It's just a question of how far the more reasonable Republicans and the courts are willing to go along with him. His severe narcissism works in our favor because he can't tolerate anybody with intelligence and competence in his inner circle for long. The bust up between him and Musk is going to be entertaining.
lowenz on 26/1/2025 at 20:45
Trump will never directly attack Musk, because he's what he couldn't ever be in the eyes of the people. You know, narcissist big little impotence in front of accomplished.....weirdos.

Those of you on the Left have shown that you really do need some controls placed upon you though. Look around you, the country and the world are in ruins. You've been in charge since the 1960s and you've wrecked it ALL.
Time for my side to get 65 years to do it our way.
