Sure, it wasn't difficult to notice, but I think it's actually him, not AI. I certainly can't find that exact response anywhere else on TTLG.
I'm mostly surprised at the seeming about face out of nowhere.

No. I recall parts of it. It may well be Frankensteined together but it's been said before. It happened around the time of a previous Nazi salute at a Trump convention. I responded to it then. It's damned weird and I'm not so certain as you it isn't AI.

It'd be interesting to see that, if you can find it. I tuned most of his crap out in the day, because it wasn't worth the brain electricity, so I don't remember him saying he grew up at least (he certainly never admitted to being wrong ever, as far as I know).

It was in this thread. I recall the "Team America" reference. Plus, it is jarring as it does not fit in the current discussion. I may be freaking out a bit as I just loaned my copy of 1984 to my granddaughter because her school banned the work. The irony blew my mind. But no. I recall certain phrasing. Okay. I'm going to calm down now. No. No I'm not. I'm going to think on this. This is fucking weird.

Tony's been around a while. I don't think it's AI so much as he's saying the same thing he's said before because people get go-to replies in their head and say things they've said before, and the older you get, the more it happens.
Anyway we probably ought to be talking about alcoholic woman-abuser Hegseth, who has only ever been in charge of two small organizations both of which he drove both into the ground, was just confirmed as Sec. of Defense, the manager of the largest single employer in the US and most powerful military in the world. Also he's cool with shooting protestors, minimizing if not pushing women and gays out of the military, defending US war crimes, and if any of our allies get invaded good luck!

Most likely you are remembering something similar, within the same type of context, but not the same exact post.
The regularity of a particular vocabulary and structural phrasing gives a signature to each personality.

Okay. That is true. People repeat themselves without realizing they are doing so. I've heard it often in face to face conversation. I've heard them repeat others as well and that is a trip, particularly when it is you they are repeating. That is scary in it's own way. So so much is scary these days it's hard to know what to give import to.
Hegseth is just another aspect to Republican hate. If he rapes or drunkenly kills then it will be just a boys will be boys thing. Those damned liberals with all their thinking about things will ruin the world. I have to say it isn't any surprise with Trump. Trump has to make it seem he isn't trying to destroy our values while slowly bringing his base one step farther into crazy violence land. Just a half step at a time really. Nothing to worry about. Just lay back and enjoy it.

I think that was Tony, but I have no idea what point he was trying to make. Team Trump and its supporters keep talking about invading other countries. Team Biden and its supporters were not.
Regarding the unqualified jackass Pete Hegseth, his nomination angers me more than the others. It seems Trump doesn't want good leaders and well qualified people in his cabinet this time because he can't control them. He wants weak people who owe him something. It was sort of heartbreaking to see Senate Republicans fall in line behind this pick.

If I was a US citizen, I'd be far more worried about someone like Tulsi Gabbard. While Hegseth is an incompetent buffoon who is woefully unqualified to lead one of the largest organisations in the world, Gabbard is in addition to being unqualified also a dangerous cultist and a conspiracy theorist who has laid out her sympathies for Putin and had a friendly meeting with Assad after he used chemical weapons.

I am worried that Tulsi Gabbard may be a Russian asset. But I don't think she will be confirmed. Also, the DNI is more of a figurehead position than an executive position. She wouldn't actually run any agency. She would filter the intelligence information that Trump receives, and she would control who we share intelligence with, so she could do damage. But Hegseth worries me more because this is a pretty critical time for the US military in preparing for China's inevitable war to dominate Asia. Also, the US military since WWII has always made it a high priority to remain apolitical. That's gone now.
