From what I can tell, the big problem MAGA is having is not that Musk wants to give visas to the very best and brightest, but that these people are coming from places like India. They want these jobs to be given to Native Americans. And by Native Americans they of course mean the descendants of European immigrants.
I don't think they have understood yet that business interests are not necessarily their interests. But this is literally what they voted for when they wanted Musk to become co-president.

They think that being governed by oligarchs, over whom they have ZERO control, is better than participating in a government over which they actually do have some control. And they could have even more control but that requires effort and thought. Just trust Daddy.

We the populace "think" that we have control of a government when is all superficial, and the real string pulling is done from the shadows of the real power hidden in very powerful families, but very few can do it, its the Cabal, in power of the world.
They determine tendencies and the road map for all the countries, big and small.
Who will rose to eminence and who will sink forgotten and ruined.
The greatest illusion we have, choice, there is no choice, but predetermined paths of which you can choose from limited options.
But hey all in all the bickering and infighting is somewhat amusing, the useless struggle of political ideals.

So let's just make it official and openly hand the keys back to the aristocracy. Right?
What a bunch of stupid, lazy-assed bullshit. Precisely the sort of cut-and-paste rhetoric they love to hear from the peasants. Cut-and-paste from their playbook.
Democracy is difficult and it is imperfect but it's the best thing (maybe the ONLY thing) we have to keep the kleptocrats at bay. It requires constant vigilance and an informed populace.
OK - I see the problem here...
Amusing? Is the fight for freedom is just an amusement for you, DD? Is the struggle for our humanity low-brow slapstick?

....."information is controlled!!111111"
When you say democracy needs "concerned citizens" maybe you can't realize how deranged can be a "concerned citizen" (see the novax people).
The problem is that democracy can work only when everyone takes part in the process for himself (and of course pays directly the due consequences for his choices)

I'm always vaguely amused at the silly notion that things are run by cabal of unknown rich people instead of the cabal of well-known rich people.

Actually I said "an informed populace". One can be concerned without being informed. Perhaps the deranged citizens are those who are concerned while being dis-informed.

Things like vaccines and benzene in water should be regulated by independent agencies insulated from both political interference and corporate lobbying money. It used to be European regulations had a problem with the former (i.e., direct parliamentary control) and US agencies (technically "independent") with the latter, but obviously now the US also has a problem with former as well.
It's a drag when people that have no idea what they're doing demand stupid things as an "experiment" when experts already know full well what's going to happen... Brexit, these tariffs and deportations Trump people are insisting on... For some reason I was recently reading about when Che took over as finance minister of Cuba after the revolution and signed the money just "Che", and winged it from there with entirely expected terrible results.
The stupid part is there are either two results after the disaster becomes obvious: either a shrug like how were we supposed to know this would wreck the economy? Or they double down on the crazy and want to purge anybody nay-saying the revolution often until they bring their country to utter ruin, and even then it's a crap shoot if the country can get out of it, because the whole problem is to criticize and state the obvious is to be purged. It's stupid that we're on a time line where that still happens.

Well from one side we have around here the left abiding for free for all education, free housing, free state health, when in the States people work 3 or 4 jobs a day to pay for their education and I don't see them complaining, also the public health system is out of funds, so inviting people (the president dreaming awake I suppose) to move from the private paid system to the state free health system is a doozy, an impossibility if you will, I know some left area people in this country don't want to pay for anything, but reality is that you HAVE to pay to get things.

Exaggerate much, DD?
In the USA, the bulk of healthcare spending by citizens is gobbled up by private insurance companies who soak them for grossly inflated premiums then us that money to pay lawyers to deny payment of the benefits.
A single payer insurance system is neither "a doozy" nor is it "impossible". It is what most of the civilized/enlightened world has been doing for decades. And it's not FREE, it just doesn't pour money into the pockets of corrupt private insurance scams. It still costs money but everybody pays for it and everybody gets to use it. It is EQUITABLE.
Seriously, DD, get a clue.
